saintsfan1976 08-11-2011 09:25 PM

Someone has to beat Shanle out first.

Maverick2299 08-11-2011 09:54 PM

eh, all depends on how Colston is doing.

So then why is shanle still starting? I mean if he is the worst ever like you seem to be saying how come he still starts? Do you think GW don't know anything about football or is that yourself?

poydras 08-12-2011 07:23 AM

We don't have anything to trade for him.

AA? ...if they'll have him - then the Saints would get something concrete out of him instead of continuous disappointments.

Do you really think the Bills would trade Lee Evans for AA?

Nope, but one can always hope! ;-)

alexonfyre 08-12-2011 09:14 AM

Yeah, Shanle is perfectly good enough to be the emergency back-up. Jo-Lonn Dunbar is better than him and even he is considered a "good backup" in the group competing this year.
Besides, regardless of what you think of why Shanle started, you can't change the game tape, and he missed tackles and blew tight end and RB coverages every game he played in last year.

Turbo Saint 08-12-2011 09:24 AM

dude, lee evans is awesome...he's just stuck on a crap team w/o a qb. sign him!

Speedy Ron 08-12-2011 10:22 AM

always liked him.

homerj07 08-12-2011 10:37 AM

Could be a good pickup for Evans & for the Saints!!

neugey 08-12-2011 10:45 AM

I think this could be a good trade, we may want to give up one of our receivers like Meachem or Henderson and something else to get him.

neugey 08-12-2011 12:47 PM

Oh crap. The Ravens got a heck of a deal ...

Baltimore Ravens land Lee Evans in deal with Buffalo Bills, source says - ESPN

FinSaint 08-12-2011 01:06 PM

A 4th round pick 2012 draft?!?! Nothing else... no future considerations..? And considering Ravens' track record of past two seasons, it won't be
a early 4th rounder at that. Wish the Saints could've gotten that deal!

alexonfyre 08-12-2011 01:12 PM

We only have 2 mil in the salary cap this year, and once the season hits we are 13 million over. We really don't have the money to afford him, especially if we are even considering making a move on another OLB or on Sharper later on.

You can always make room by cutting somebody less necessary. With that price, I hope ML was at least in the hunt.

jcp026 08-12-2011 01:47 PM

If they'll take a 7th round pick for him we still won't be able to afford to pay him.
