Anyone who takes a long look at the team has to reach pretty far to find flaws and potential issues this year...I mean his biggest disappointment was that one of our star DBs might not play in the preseason, and that there are two guys who are playing better than he did and may take his place...

22 is and will be the man this season.

I'll take a healthy Tracy Porter over Greer. ;-)

Not related to this article directly, but Jeff Duncan sounded concerned in one his video blogs about Porter's health. It sounded to me like he didn't
have complete trust in that Porter would be ready for even the start of the regular season, since he isn't even allowed limited practice. What that
does to the depth of the secondary corps can't be dismissed, while Patrick Robinson might be ready to take up the #2 CB role... is Johnny Patrick
ready to step up as the #3 CB? While this might not be as big of a concern due to the fact that the Saints should have an immensely improved
pass rush from last year, which should negate some of the pressure on the Saints' secondary... it still is a valid point when one looks at the potential
weaknesses of a given team.

By the end of the season Robinson will be ahead of Porter on the depth chart. I've read he's had a fantastic camp.

Yeah, I agree with you on Robinson, but that still leaves the question on the depth at that position. Is Patrick capable of taking the #3 spot or is
Torrence going to be the man while Porter's unable to play? I have to admit I had high hopes for Washington when the news broke that the Saints
signed him - not that he would threaten the top 3 guys, but that he'd be a reliable and competent backup for the top 3. Now with the reports that
he was struggling at camp even before he got injured... I'm not so sure about his value anymore. Naturally it takes time to get accustomed to a new
scheme and he didn't play a whole lot last season due to injury so there's going to be some rustiness, but still it makes me somewhat concerned.

But like originally stated... these are small concerns compared to the overall strengths that this year's team seems to have - at least on paper.

I'm hearing Patrick's having a good camp too. Still a lot to learn, but the word is he's got great technique. The dude is smooooooth.

Washington was struggling with GW's system more than anything.

I might be overreacting... but Duncan just made it all sound so gloomy in his video blog. The way he insinuated that there was something more to
Porter's injury than the coaching staff was willing to divulge, and that the treatment of his injury didn't follow the normal time-line in regards to
decisions made on procedures to be taken.

I guess it's all because of the bad luck with injuries the Saints have had in the CB position during the last couple of seasons that has made this
type of a situation all too familiar. I really thought/hoped that it would not be the case this year anymore, and it might not be for all we know.

Every team has its weak spots. That is the main reaosn for preseason too work those out or at leat work on them
