Dome Song

Ok, guys....will "Stand Up and Get Crunk" still be da dome song this season??? Just wonderin....I gotta have something to dance to when we score!!!:D

Ashley 08-12-2011 02:59 PM

I think they should play it, but got to have a new one for y'all this year. Just wish that I could be in that number!

JoanieNTX 08-12-2011 03:04 PM

Where are you, Ashley???

saintsfan1976 08-12-2011 05:01 PM

Nothing will ever top this song in the Dome. E V E R

Mardigras9 08-12-2011 05:04 PM

Nothing makes the dome rock like it.

The Dude 08-12-2011 05:39 PM

I am so sick of that stupid song. I guess it was ok during our SB run, but now its just old and tired. They cant retire that stupid song soon enough in my opinion.

TheDeuce 08-12-2011 05:53 PM

I'm sick of you.

skymike 08-12-2011 06:26 PM

I like anything that makes everybody get up and boogie. I was DJ'ing
a holiday party last year at the DoubleTree Galleria for an Oil Services
company, and several people asked for Krunk.

I still like Second Line right after we score--- thats a great tradition.
I like the way the young people still know it.

Apparently, the NFL doesnt allow the marching band to play during play, like they do in college games. I would like to have somebody
like Southern, sitting down there and jamming between plays.

jeanpierre 08-12-2011 07:42 PM

We do need a new theme song - every season should have its own identity...

And it should evolve as the season progresses...

homerj07 08-12-2011 09:24 PM

I agree new song - nothig with bring ing out the old ones occasionally - but new one would be nice

Budsdrinker 08-13-2011 11:49 AM

Still played it last night. Not the same though without Hargrove dancing on the kickoff

strato 08-13-2011 11:52 AM

Im with Dude that crunk crap needs to go...

Saintswrath 08-13-2011 01:47 PM

getting tired of that song, people know they can run a song down man.. smh..
I absolutely despise Ying Yang Twins and this song redundantness made it worse.

ALLSAINTS66 08-13-2011 05:45 PM

I still like the song. But those dudes are from ATLANTA.

I think the "theme songs" should be by local
artists. Ain't like we don't have talent comin'
out our ears!

Two come quickly to mind from recent history that
I thought immediately should be heard regularly
in the Dome from the moment I first heard 'em:
Backatown- Trombone Shorty.wmv - YouTube
DOWN - On March The Saints - YouTube

And don't even say Li'l Wayne. That little ***** bet on the
VIQUEENS when they were playing us for the
NL title. 'Never forgive that PUNK for that ****!

foreverfan 08-13-2011 05:52 PM

The song will always be associated with the SuperBowl Victory and there for they can play it for me anytime.

I love it.

TRUE, but got to have a new one. Like sharks to blood! keep the fans up

FireVenturi 08-13-2011 06:04 PM

They only played it after the firstbtouchdown, which was weird.

Also, the pre game video before the team came out was horrible. It was a vid of them during practice.

Practice??

Saintswrath 08-14-2011 08:04 PM

Don't want anything associated with Atlanta to be associated with my Superbowl...
But i see ya'll liked the song without even knowing where Ying Yang Twins came from or cheer for..
They are die hard Failcon Fans and even though they wore Saints Jersey's in New Orleans to sing the song they went back to Atlanta radio stations and said when Atlanta play New Orleans they cheer for Atlanta, When they are in their city (ATL) they ware Failcon Jersey's, they are born and raised Failcon fans, But they were not going to pass up an opportunity to make money and possibly another shot at getting back into the rap game so they stole credit for a song that was re-written by a New Orleanian.
Sadly all they used Saints Victory and Fans for was their own greed.

The Song was originally re-made re-mixed by a New Orleanian that just rapped over the beat but to avoid legal troubles they agreed with Ying Yang Twins agents to allow them to perform and get credit for the song (That they did not write).. they didn't even know the lyrics to the Saints version they just showed up and allowed K. Gates (The original writer of the Saints version) to rap it or they would lip sync it and dance around.

I Liked Dee-1's Drew Brees Song "Drew Dat" and a few other Local Rapper songs, but those were less commercial so less heard around..
New Orleanians have a problem with supporting local talent so i decided to go looking for good New Orleanian made stuff instead of whatever the rave was.

saintsfan1976 08-14-2011 10:26 PM

LOL.

Given...

strato 08-14-2011 10:34 PM

Yep.. as it should be..:D

saintsfan1976 08-14-2011 10:40 PM

But you've gotta admit - "stand up and get crunk" really gets the dome rockin' in a way blues legends would be proud of.

skymike 08-15-2011 02:39 PM

When the Saints Go Marching In---

classic for a reason.

Skymike it's a classic but come on that would put people to sleep plus I don't think the player would be hype up after TD if they played that song.

skymike 08-15-2011 03:14 PM

I'll bet it Southern or Grambling or LSU or ULL played it live, it wouldnt put you to sleep.

HouYat 08-15-2011 04:11 PM

Rebirth needs to come up with a song, something with a lot of brass. I would be surprised if they're not working on one right now.

I would prefer a Kermit Ruffins jam.

saintfan 08-15-2011 04:30 PM

I'm sorry. I know I'm WAY out in the minority here, but the Arena Football League has one up on the NFL when it comes to stuff like this. I used to go see the Desperados play in Dallas when I lived there - One because it was cheap, and two because it effing rocked.

So our boys just mill around in the tunnel, hopping up and down like they do, for the first 25 seconds or so, and then, at 26 seconds into this song, the blast out. I'll spill my beer everywhere...

y'all don't think the cheerleaders could have some fun with that one? FF would need medical attention before the coin flip...
