LOL, yes its sort of like holding him back to not give up what he is capable off until the games start after how many years he has put up gawdy numberts...
Although we could go with Chase as the starter... I mean at this point Chase has more "upside". |

Just out of sync in my opinion.

Maybe Drew looks bad.. I hope to see the Saints when They come to California,, But a lot of this has to do with the defense he is playing with.. All in all it should make him better come season opener.. I don't think it should be anything to worry about.. Also remember this off season Drew was busy trying to get football going. That also maybe a factor in all this.. But If I know Drew he will shake this off, just like everything else.. He is to much of a competitor...
GEAUX SAINTS |
Bet he throws a TD vs the Texans this weekend.

I am a little worried because on NOLA some of what they're saying leads you to believe the o is struggling a little. Hope it is just that our D is going to be really good this year
|
2009 brees was 6-9 88 yards 1 td first game, 9-14 87 yards 1 td second game. Liked to see the play better this saturday
Strangely our second preseason and third preseason games in 09 were houston and oakland, just like this year. Is this a sign? |

When I mention the "upside" of a certain player, I always refer to his potential to be better than the other guy I'm comparing him to. As I understand it, you consider the whole concept of "upside" as ridiculous, and like to evaluate players based on their abilities and performance at the current moment with no regard to the near future. Still, I would think that there is something to be said about thinking ahead, which is how "dynasty-like" franchises are made. Please don't take this as an attack on your point of view... just as a comment to your previous comments about the subject. http://yoursmiles.org/msmile/fun/m0109.gif |
We just will not know until Sept 8 when the games count and its time to make the push for the Superbowl. Unfortunately, I think this year every game will count in our division. Drew will have the advantage this year of not having to carry the weight as much, like in the past. It appears a running game, and a stout defense will ease his burden. A less than par pre-season is probably a good thing for him to get his head right moving into the season.

We'll find out this weekend. If Drew has another bad day, we're probably in big trouble.
|
He's human. When the games count your can bet your ass he will be ready. The guy works harder than any other QB in the league

Rugby, I hope you are right about this. Because, I remember it the other way around. I seem to recall our O having an extreme tightness, and I remember there being a buzz in camp about how "on" our O was. Nothing was hitting the ground. So, maybe I am wrong in my recollection. Hoping your memory is better than mine on this front!!! |

Unphuckingingbelievable... some of you nitwits are turning on Drew?
That does it. You're no longer a Saints fan. You have to move to Atlanta. Disloyal dweebs. Drew is the man. More than any of you likely will ever be in your entire life. Mod Edit Call us anything but Falcon fans:brood: |
Seriously, chill out hombres.

I just like yelling and being over dramatic. Aggghhhh!

He'll get it turned on...

I really think it's our defense playing better ball. Brees is being forced to be on his toes every play and not having his way. Face it, Greg Williams know the offense and knows how to stop it. Would you rather Brees throwing for 1000 yards every practice? What would that say? The offensive line has a few new starters too. We shall see. If one thing is for sure, Brees is usually the least of our problems. |

Bah, he is slipping up. Time to replace him. Andrew Luck anyone?

We can just trade our draft for him, like NYG did with Eli!

It's a TC decoy. No probs with Drew. We would like Green Bay overconfident..
|
Some of you are now OFFICIALLY ATLANTA FALCONS fans for life.
You have no choice. I won't let you forget it. Forever. Censor that. I just call it like it is. The chips fall where they will. A wise man once said, don't act like a douchenozzle and you won't get called one. |
Man, I guess that's the thing about people. They love you when you're good but soon as you start slipping up, GET TO THE CURB! OMGZ!!!lol!11!
|
Still baffles me how folks are saying Drew is slipping up. Right now, a slipping Drew is better than a sharp Chase Daniels. Also, a slipping Drew is better than 80% of the quarterbacks in the NFL.

I also would stress two words: Observation and Seemed. I think overall, people's observations about this have been pretty on point...and I'd venture to guess even Drew would admit this. But at the end of the day, it's all just speculation. I think it's natural to show concern for someone, or something that is so obviously an integral part of the success of our beloved Saints. |

No, they love you when you're good, but once you are good the bar is raised. Once you set that bar at the level Drew has, folks expect that and better. I think it's natural to over analyze imperfections, or what we perceive as such, in the face of our franchise. |
