Coaching Value
http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/6969039
Just saw this interesting article on CBS' site about coaching pay. Of the teams that did NOT make the playoffs here are the highest paid coaches on a per victory basis: Spurrier - $1 million per victory (quit) Mariucci - $1 million per victory (Second year rebuilding a terrbile Detroit team) Fassel - $800,000 per victory (fired) Butch Davis - $600,000 per victory (on hot seat) Schottenheimer - $600,000 per victory (on hot seat) Gruden - over $500,000 per victory (he won a Super Bowl last year and has a winning record as the Bucs coach. He get's a pass) Reeves - $500,000 per victory (fired) Capers - $400,000 per victory (expansion team) Haslett - $344,000 per victory Other coaches who made less per victory than Haslett ----------------------------------------------------- Gregg Williams (fired) Callahan (fired) McGinnis (fired) Jauron (fired) As usual, the Saints are overpaying for underperformers and letting their real talent go (read Alexander - WR coach). |
