Casillas

Man ...geez he looked bad tonight..hate to say it, but the guy might be too small to start...he got shoved all over the place...i know he is a fan favorite..but we might be better with Shanle..lord have mercy..OLB in the draft next year..

jnormand 08-20-2011 11:42 PM

Our entire defense got shoved around all night. Even our "big" defensive lineman. Just pre-season but I was hoping the line would have more of a push. Guess I could same the same for our offensive line.

The only time I heard Casilla's name was when Solomon Cox was talking about how he wasn't deep enough on one of those Schaub passes...

I heard the same,,, luckily i have a dvr,, i rewind and noticed casillias was actually in coverage on another Texans if he dropped back the qb would've easily thrown underneath. cox tv need some better commentators ,,, however on a totally different play Casillias could have drop back further to try to disrupt a 23 yard reception to andre johnson

We needed an OLB in last year's offseason... We're just sticking to the script in ignoring it.

st thomas 08-21-2011 12:49 AM

something was'nt right tonight the whole game plan was watered down tonight. we play them in3 weeks. i don't like that a bit. the schedulle is not faverable they said it a couple of tymes that this game should be played later and not early. every team in the states are gonna mop up yrds on us with that cut back behind the line, gary kuibiack designed the office in denver and he has gotten close to superbowls twice, its scary how much yards they got everysnap. we will regroup. how many time u guys said reggie would have caught that rise ur hand.

At the end of the day; you have to trust in Payton, G.W., Loomis and the rest of em.

They know what their doing and have a plan, with the drafts that is.

I don't know what the hell that tragedy of a game was...

Looking back at it again, it actually was not that bad. We made some stupid, uncanny mistakes I don't see us making in the regular season. I think our O-line needs some time to gel, but they looked improved over last week, and that is a good sign. The oline was also damn near as perfect as you can get in run support. Our D looked like ****, but again its preseason and I think GW was keeping it pretty vanilla as others have pointed out. The missed tackles are the main thing that scare me on that side of the ball. We have a couple more weeks to get our **** together and I think they will.

I know Dunbar is looking great at his natural MLB position. But, he looks like the 2nd best LB on the team right now. He should get some work on the outside during preseason. His improvement might not be limited to just playing inside.

I was saying the same thing. Hell I was screaming it at the TV. I'm going to up some meds. this year, between the ignorant commentaries and these STUPID ASS rule changes. God help me

I think we may seein' some serious 3-4 this year once the season starts. Then we'll be seeing Dunbar in there beside Vilma doin' what comes naturally. There's a lot of head games goin' on between the coaches and the world right now. I'm do not believe we've seen the true Saints yet....

Speaking of the game and commentary, I watched the game on NFL Network. These guys have no idea how to cut in and out of a game for updates to other games. It was so akward how they cut in to report on another game; sometimes right after a play or right before one.

I sure hope not. They don't have three decent linebackers on that roster, much less four!

I think we will see the 3-4 from other teams this year..its one of Drews Achilles heels..

xan 08-21-2011 12:54 PM

We got three really good tackles. Put any of our DE's on LB and one situational rush and there's going to be trouble.

3-4 with pressure, not any old 3-4. If Drew has hands in his face in the 3-4 he is in trouble.

Harper? RE-sign RE-morse?

I got it.

None of the DEs have LB experience - except for Alex Brown who played 11 games as the strong side LB in his freshman year - so who would it be?

strato 08-21-2011 01:51 PM

Gallette?

Galette played DE/OLB in college

OK. In that case he might work there.

Is there any info on whether or not GW has ever played him on LB in practices? I would have to think that his covering skills are nothing to write home about, but he'd certainly be able help in the pressure packages.

|Mitch| 08-21-2011 05:05 PM

Just in preseason last year, he got to rotate in and out at DE/LB at times...

Oh yeah, I vaguely remember that... thanks for the reminder.

LB has been a thorn for a while. I dont know why the Saints are satisfied - I know we as fans are not!!

LB is very dependant on the DL doing their job and controling the OL. Against the Texans our DL did a horrible job and that was a big reason in why the LBs struggled.
