Is this guy really good and do you think he'll be starting next season?

There\'s not a single member on this board that can truthfully answer that question, because nobody here has seen enough of him to know how well he\'s progressing. Unless Jim Tressel or Haslett frequent this board...
Honestly, just from what I\'ve read, yes, he will be starting next year, he\'s that good of an athlete. Where? I don\'t know, probably won\'t have a clue until after August.

Yes that about sums it up in a nut shell. I agree 100 percent with that assestment. He didn\'t have much playing time and needs time to develop and get use to the speed especially at the MLB position. I personally don\'t see him lining up at MLB this coming year if he is to start. I see him going to the outside where his athleteism will pay off in blit packages and dropping back to help cover and breakdown screens and sweeps. But you can\'t judge him until he has full season of games under his belt.

Yea I was hopeing to see this kid on the field more this year, the injuries really did leave him as a question mark. Haslett sure is blowing a lot of smoke up everybodys ass about Cie, but he did the same thing with Hodge and the results have been less than impressive there. I hope there is something to this kid we need LB help in ther worst way.

Cie Grant is a tweener .

Goes 6 foot 225 lbs. and is listed at the middle linebacker position .

He is at best in the N.F.L. a project strong safety , like Sammy Knight was .

Cie Grant-Ohio State

2001 Season Stats: 12 games, 56 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 5 passes broken up, 1 fumble recovery

Positives: Has great size for a safety and has great playing strength on the football field. Is a versatile player who has contributed at linebacker, cornerback and safety during his career at Ohio State. Really has come on like gangbusters as a senior.

Negatives: Doesn’t have much experience as a safety. Even though he has played cornerback, he seems more comfortable up around the line of scrimmage rather than back in coverage. Would be somewhat of a project player.

Unless this kid gets up in the 245 area I don\'t care how great of an athlete he is. Sorry, you can\'t be smaller than DEUCE and expect to play linebacker in the NFL, especially not middle linebacker.

Saints need to address the middle linebacker in free agency .

If in the draft go - Richard Siegler - Oregon State - 6\'3 - 240 , he is a motor and loves to chat it up on the field . He has good leadership ability in the middle .

He could end up a 2nd round pick if the Saints go CB in the first round. Richard Siegler is going to be a 2nd rounder.

Some mocks have the Saints going LB in the first .

That is absurd , Siegler is a projected late first or second depending if there is a LB rush on draft day . Seigler has great size and speed and is a natural leader . The middle is like no linebackers land in New Orleans and Siegler would be a steal if he fell to the Saints in the second .

Saints need to deal down on Carter and go CB in the first if they cannot blockbuster a trade for Eli . Seigler would make a great second and then get a left tackle with the third . If memory serves me well , the Saints do not have a 4th so they would need to find a diamond in the rough RB with the 5th selection .

Isn\'t that what they said about Sam Mills? I don\'t know exactly what Mills weighed, but I know he was smaller than Deuce. Come on WhoDat....

I\'m going to have to go make you stand in the corner for making that statement... :P
