Haslett to Bills ???
A Buffalo insider report , reports :
The Bills and Fassel as well as representatives have had some discussions, but nothing fringing on offering him the Buffalo job. The wild-card in the Bills coaching situation could be local man Jim Haslett, currently head coach of the New Orleans Saints. Our sources say that Haslett would like to leave New Orleans and become the head coach of the Bills. The problem right now is New Orleans owner Tom Benson will not release Haslett and has not appeared interested in negotiating a deal to secure Haslett's services, for a draft selection or player(s). The often mentioned "escape clause" in Haslett's contract with the Saints that would allow him to leave if offered the Buffalo job never actually existed. So Benson would have to let Haslett go for him to enter the field of Bills coaching candidates. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey , Brooks Must Go I am one step closer in my earlier post thought .... :P posted on 14/12/2003 at 15:06 My personal favorite scenario . Haslett to Buffalo for a first round pick ..... Brooks to trade in draft pick option . Armed with 2 first round picks and a veteran Qb to trade , the possibilities look great . Hire Coughlin , who Benson is already comfortable with , and sign Brunell to tutor Eli .... |
