Hartley could miss 6-10 weeks with hip flexor

Saints Kicker Garrett Hartley Could Miss Six, Maybe 10 Weeks After Suffering a Hip Flexor

Yikes!

Saintswrath 09-02-2011 06:27 AM

Sick to thy stomach.. And it appears we didn't patch up our kicking situation, Yeah i know John Kaysay needs to knock off rust but it's a bit late in the season to risk some old out of practice man with Green bay staring us down Thursday.

skymike 09-02-2011 06:41 AM

Now I've heard everything. What the hell is a "hip flexor?" Sounds like some kind of electric hybrid wuss hippie car. Seriously, who get these hip flexors, and where did they come from?

POYDRAS?

So my buddy was right ....geez..Kasey better practice up..

Budsdrinker 09-02-2011 07:01 AM

I think they need to work on the holder. maybe change the holding duties from Daniels to Morestead so they can work on it non stop at practice. Kind of hard for the backup QB to work on holding during practice. I think it's just a matter of getting use to left footed kicker. Think about it. You have to turn yourself around and hold with the opposite hand and Daniels isn't use to it.

Yep Bud..that looks to be the problem...

homerj07 09-02-2011 07:28 AM

WTF - its all you do is kick!!

This is as ridiculous as a golfer having a knee injury - I mean what do they do to injure thier knee (was Tiger bending over a lot for some reason - or is his name really (K)Neal & Bob!!??

Ashley 09-02-2011 07:32 AM

That's it we now go for it All the time. Get rid of both kickers.

Euphoria 09-02-2011 08:20 AM

Yes cut Hartley already.

jnormand 09-02-2011 08:20 AM

It's a freak injury. Damn. Better get Carney practicing in case Kasey can't figure it out.

Saint_LB 09-02-2011 08:22 AM

I think we should go for 2 every time...and on 4th either punt or go for it.

alexonfyre 09-02-2011 09:18 AM

A) The hip flexors are the group of muscles that pull the knee upward, so if a kicker is going to hurt anything, that would be it. And if those muscles aren't working, then you can't kick.

B) Payton has said from the beginning Morestead and Daniels weren't able to hold for Kasay correctly, and haven't been getting the ball on the ground for him right yet. I agree with whoever said Morstead should do it, since he is awesome at doing all of the most thankless jobs on the team better than anyone else in the league.

C) If we did end up getting rid of our kicker and playing Madden football, go for it every time or punt, and won a Super Bowl, would that change the league? Would the field goal become an archaic and forgotten play like the drop kick?

Luda34 09-02-2011 10:23 AM

I just found out Kasay missed a extra point and Field goal. What the hell is all that pratice for and you come in and F*&k up. Is there any young legs out there we can bring in.

Beastmode 09-02-2011 10:43 AM

Not good, not good at all. He's a young man? He should not be having injuries like that this soon. I could see rolling the dice on 3rd down b/t 35-40 yd line. If we convert a good percentage of those then it may not be that big of a deal. What is Kasay's range these days?

Well, seeing as he missed an extra point last night, I'd say that with the wind at his back he could probably boot one in with confidence from oh about the 1 and a half yard line, LOL....
