New Orleans Saints DE Junior Galette on edge, on bubble
 

New Orleans Saints defensive end Junior Galette, one of the most popular players with fans who scan the roster looking for sleeping superstars, acknowledged Friday he is on the edge of the team's final roster.

That's not a comfortable position, but he is comfortable in it, Galette said. In the 2011 preseason, Galette has 8 tackles - 7 solo - but no sacks. He made the team in 2010, whetting the fans' appetite for the emergence of a new Lawrence Taylor-like sack specialist, and appeared in four games.
Whether he will repeat that, Galette acknowledged, is uncertain.

"It's one of those days of the year where you've got to wait and see how it all plans out," he said outside his locker Friday. "I gave it my all last night (against Tennessee); left everything I had on the field. All I can do is be thankful for this opportunity, you understand? Because from where I came from and where I'm at now, it's a long journey, but the journey is just beginning. So I have no idea - you never know what God's plan is. He works in mysterious ways. Right now I'm just thankful and blessed and highly favored, as always, and just worrying about the things I can control."

I haven't got a chance to see him play. Just going on what y'all say about him. He is a fan favorite here, so if he makes it great. If he doesn't then oh well strato will have to get another man crush.

I have not seen him play & maybe that is the problem. He does not seem to be much of a force.

Ash him and Bell were the only bright spots the other night against the Titans...he should make it..

He'll look like a young Dwight Freeny on one play, then like a lost 3rd string walk-on on another.

His talent is unquestionable, he just needs to put it all together.

Gregg Williams likes him a lot. Thats good enough for me.

So is he on the bubble or on the first team? I can't figure it out. Admittedly I haven't watched every preseason game from start to finish, but haven't noticed him yet.

With the talent this team has, I'd think he'd be on the bubble to make the team. No way he is "starter" caliber yet, or hasn't shown it at least...

Greatness at that position takes time. Hopefully he has both.
