Bright Spots
Junyah...Sproles... Drew... P.T Devery ..Meach that's what i saw..and i still think we will get better..a lot of new faces out there..give it sometime...we played a great team and almost tied it..
:bng: |
Meachem, Henderson, Graham.
Ingrim looked like a rookie, had some bright spots and some dark ones. |
Brees, Sproles, P.T., Henderson
Will Smith will be back in week 3. I thought to myself, "Great play, Shanle!" and then realized how low my standards must be to get excited about a routine tackle. |
Sproles...250 yards tonight. That's half of what Reggie made in 8 games last year.
|
All the bright spots mentioned are on the Offense. Not much to talk about on The D. But Green bay is a good team and will be a handful this season.
|
Nice thread. First time I ever said that to ya.
Sincerely, A Saints Fan |
Sproles. Freakin wow. Unfreakinbelievable how big some small guys play. Explosive.
I really respect how Colston fought back through adversity. Meach too. All of them. It wasn't a win but it wasn't the end of all things. I really respect how our defense fights even against a juggernaut on steroids. The Saints D have so much more character than SOME Saints fans, that much is clear. I saw Casillas and Shanle pop some cheeseheads. I really liked that hit on Donald Driver. Took that sheet eatin grin right off his face. It was payback for the hit on Colston, same result... ball popped out. Funny how that can work. Our defense is not a baby to be thrown out with the bathwater. That would be similar to acting like an LSU fan or something. I have no reason not to keep saying Two Dat till I have to start saying Three DAT! |

But yeah, not much to talk about regarding our "D", unless we want to continue the banter about just how bad it was. As I said in some other thread, I will be optimistic about the defense because, for sure, they can't play any worse. We're at rock bottom on D. We can either go straight up or sideways. I just don't think we could possibly suck much harder than we did last night. |

As far as the bright spots, we've pretty much mentioned them already
What I was happy about was what looked to be, for the most part, a one sided game, we fought back hard and showed a lot of resilience against the best team in the league. The schedule looks promising and we going to get this thing rolling. |
WHAT A GAME!It was disheartening to me to see the cheese run the ball as well as they did. It's only one game but man C'mon S.Rogers!Donald driver kept a couple of drives going with great catches!Aaron Rodgers was on the money on those too.
Jimmy Graham wasn't too shabby(bright spot but can't wait until he grows into being a great blocker) P.Rob what's up with all that cushion? Bring on chicago!:bng: |

I think I severely underestimated how much we'd miss Will Smith. There wasn't one defensive player I'd say played well last night, not one. Not Vilma, not Jenkins, not Greer, not Harper, not Porter... No one. |
Had to throw one D player in..and that sack was one bright spot..lol..Greer had some nice plays..but just a few
|
Bright spots.
The O is clicking as we knew it could. And it ain't at its best yet. Oh and also the GBP game is out of the way. |
Number 1 offense once again this season.... im calling it
|
Streif got beat the whole night are we going to address that

Here's a bright spot for ya, we lose to the defending superbowl champions at home while only scoring 1 td on 5 redzone trips and still having a chance to tie the game and send it to overtime.
|
Another bright spot...
Games like this make it easier to differentiate those posters that know football, and those that don't. |
Confirmed: Don't EVER have to send Mark Ingram between the tackles again until we get someone between the tackles who can open a hole for him to run through. Isn't it pathetic when a guy as explosive as Ingram fizzles trying to climb a wall of offensive and defensive linemen? One step around the end and he could be one-on-one with a linebacker or defensive end.
Confirmed: Meachem is an offensive tool to be utilized. Confirmed: Casillas is going to be a really good defensive asset with some experience. Confirmed: Giving 10 yards of cushion to receivers when the ball is on our 12 will cost a touchdown 89.9% of the time. Confirmed: Taunting when behind leaves alot to be desired and only will take away from any respect you have earned with your fan base.j Confirmed: A lefty-kicker cannot split the uprights unless he aims at or near the upright to the right. Confirmed: Turning your back and scrambling backward... Well, even Drew can't pull that one off with sprinting defensive linemen in pursuit. Confirmed: GW aint all that against a good offense. I think Casallis had a good game. He surprised me, to tell you the truth.
I gotta mention Charleston also. |

As bad as our defense played, it took 42 points for the Packers to win.
I don't see many teams on our schedule that can do that. I would say the Colts, but not without Manning |
Bright spot........Pt can still play.
|
SOme good & some bad. I can't wait unitl Smith is back!!
|
The game's finally over.
|
The bright spot is we have a game against Chicago next week and I hope we pwn them.
