All the NEGATIVE aside

All of the negative aside how bout that last 2 minute drive from Drew Brees, i know i was not the only one standing up the whole time!!

strato 09-09-2011 04:15 PM

Me 2!..never give up!

saintfan 09-09-2011 04:16 PM

Oh I was in to it. I told myself we'd score but then blow the 2 point conversion. LOL I'm a Saints fan. What can I say?

Danno 09-09-2011 04:22 PM

With as bad a game as our defense played, and minus 2 in turnovers (fumble and 4th down), burning 2 timeouts early in the 2nd half, on the raod, in the Superbowl champs' season opener, we were still 1 foot away from likely sending this game into overtime on the last play of the game.

The only thing thats really changed in the big picture is that I think we're now the 2nd best team in the NFL.

I think we'll seen these guys again.

NinthWardJay 09-09-2011 04:22 PM

lol yea i was the same way after the Colston pass i was like o yea we are going to score then try to run the ball in for the 2pt and lose....... go figure huh lol

|Mitch| 09-09-2011 04:22 PM

that last drive was something that legends are made of...

NinthWardJay 09-09-2011 04:24 PM

lol and dont forget Cobb's kickoff return... ya know... the one where he defied gravity almost

jcp026 09-09-2011 04:27 PM

That last drive was incredible. I thought we were going to pull it off. I still think, if the defense doesn't allow the Lynch TD run last year, we score another TD and put the Seahawks out of the playoffs.

And you're right. The season is a long way from over. I keep thinking though, had GB not taken their foot off the gas a bit if we would have even had a shot at that last drive. I know it doesn't matter. That's how games flow.

I am just completely disgusted with the performance of the D - mostly because I have every reason to believe they can (and will) play better.

I am sad and blue. I'll get over it.

Wife fell asleep and kept saying we lost already... just turn off the TV. A while later she was getting a kick in the behind.

CheramieIII 09-09-2011 05:10 PM

to screw up as much as we did and still have a chance to win. We'll be just fine and we'll see the too much hype team again in the NFC Championship game

I'm actually glad Lynch scored the TD. I just didn't like the way he did it. Because after he got the first down, if he didn't score, the game would have been over. They run out the clock and we don't see the ball again.

Though that POS aaron rogers won't admit it, he was sweating us making that TD at the end and going into OT. I'm still not letting the defense off the hook for this loss, but we gave GB all they wanted in that game. Even a LITTLE BACKBONE shown by our defense would have won that game for us. After 3 years in this system I'm very disappointed in our d. (Note: with the way they played they don't deserve caps.)

Man ol' man. Should I? I mean...there's just some things that are hard to pass-up!

Gonna take the high road, though. :)

Ok final drive - why didn't we play like that the entire game?

D is w/o Smith - I hope that make a difference when he comes back

Amen Brother; ain't like the Mora days where you just headed for the door...

jcp026 09-10-2011 04:43 PM

We were one yard and a two point conversion away from tying the game. Now we know how much heart Drew Brees and the offense has, we need to see something from the defense.

Banjojoe 09-10-2011 04:54 PM

I was going to post something right after the game, but I'm glad I didn't. It took awhile for me to calm down and become coherent. Well. here are my thoughts anyway. IF it weren't for some bad play calling (one when we should have kicked a field goal and another at the end when I felt Drew had them set up for a quarter back keeper) even after the lousy defense, we still could have won that game. In other words we took all the World Champs threw at us and were only behind by 8 points; most of which we caused ourselves. So take heart. The sky is not falling, nor is our world coming to an end. We have some stuff to clean up, but what team doesn't? And Aaron Rodgers, if you're listening, WE'LL BE BACK!

We gonna have a chance to win most every game as long as we have Brees throwing the football for us.

pumpkindriver 09-11-2011 07:16 AM

The only thing I"ll say about going for it on 4th down, earlier and at the end of the game is that we should've run the ball from our spread formation. That way the GB def, wouldn't have known whether it was run or pass since we do both from that formation. We just couldn't get a solid push against their def. front all in tight like that.
