Pease In As DL Coach
Pease sounds like a good hire also. He\'s worked with some outstanding D-linemen. Hopefully, he can be a good tutor for Sully and the rest of the defensive linemen.
I think postion coaches are very important. Venturi, is responsible for the defensive scheme, but the position coaches are responsilbe for teaching proper techniques that relate to a players postion. Maybe PART of the reason some of our young defensive players haven\'t developed is because of the position coaches we\'ve had. Our defense has been a liability for the past few years now. I think we\'re pretty much set along the defensive line. That is, if Sully can meet expectations. I believe he will. I\'m waiting on the day when the announcement comes that we have properly addressed the linebacker and cornerback positions. If that happens and we\'re able to play an attack style defense, we should be able to compete with any team out there. We are definately closer than we were at this point last year. The BIG question is, will Haslett sign the players we need at cornerback and linebacker. I know many fans think they will go after \"project\" players, but I think they\'ve learned their lesson.
