STREIF VS PEPPERS

Will the Saints double team Peppers all day to help out Streif? If not Bress will have a long day on the ground. I hate to keep picking on this guy but I DVR the Packers game and Clay beat this guy almost everytime. Now you bring Peppers in who is a stronger, bigger and just as fast as Clay Mattews and just see bad things happing. What do you guys think?

I agree. Perhaps use some 2 tight-end sets to free up jimmy graham for some plays down the field

Rugby Saint II 09-15-2011 01:35 PM

Double teams and lots of chipping. They could slow the rush down with a few well timed screens.

st thomas 09-15-2011 01:43 PM

I think matthews is more wormy if u get what i'm saying where peppers is more a stand up push spinner moves maybe. just saying. it will be tough on strieffy, peppers will get his sack i'm sure what big time name have we ever been shut out, they seem to get 1 or 2 sacks with plenty of asst. we will manage to get through and eat bear, its our time.

Keep a TE in block (D. Thomas) occasionally, chip with backs and TEs regularly, run the ball directly at him and run a few screens to his side.

Scary thought...

FinSaint 09-15-2011 01:55 PM

Bring in Brown to double him with Strief... or Thomas.

Peppers is really athletic and he almost had a pick against the Failclowns on a screen pass, so that's something that the Saints have to be mindful of when deciding to pass against the blitz from Peppers' side.

I agree the only time Mathews didn't get in the backfield is when we brought Brown in the game and use him on the same side with Streif.

What do I think? Well, I'll tell ya.

Zach Strief is a PeeWee Football Lineman trapped in a 300-pound man's body.

There. I said it.

Alaska

Word is Zach has been popping sleeping pills to control the nightmares. Only he knows whether they include Mathews or Peppers at this point.

I like any post with a "queef" bomb in it.

jcp026 09-15-2011 03:07 PM

If he plays poorly, maybe that can be Strief's new nickname! The "Queef Bomb."

ChrisXVI 09-15-2011 03:15 PM

I may be wrong... but isn't Peppers gonna be lined up acrossed from Bushrod??

aquaboogie 09-15-2011 04:01 PM

Peppers will probably be lined up in various places. The entire O-Line should be on alert!!!!!!

This^^^

73Saint 09-15-2011 04:24 PM

At least we know Peppers from his Carolina days

FinSaint 09-15-2011 04:26 PM

Yeah, he was lining up all over the place against the Failclowns - right, left, and middle.

I think Strief has earned the right to show what he can do for a few more games before I at least pass judgment on his performance and skill. I mean it was his 1st game (that mattered) as the real starter in the nationally broadcast season opener against the SB champions.

gandhi1007 09-15-2011 05:35 PM

When Jammal Brown went down & Strief faced Peppers at Carolina, he held his own & did a grade A job against him a few years back. People seem to forget that. Let's see what happens. Bushrod facing Peppers is what I'm more concerned about.

Peppers does switch it up from right to left, so he will be up against both

homerj07 09-15-2011 08:35 PM

They had better frippen block or Drew is a dead man!! He cant take hits this week on the turf like he did last week on the grass!!

Danno 09-15-2011 08:41 PM

IIRC, Strief shut down Peppers (in Carolina) when he subbed for an injured Jammal Brown (or maybe Stinch) at RT.

Strief will be no worse than Stinchcomb was.
