detailed analysis of Saints O line vs. GB
If this has already been posted here, I didn't see it. From footballoutsiders.com:
------------------------------- Word of Muth: Strafing and Strief by Ben Muth One of the main reasons I chose to cover the Saints this year was their reputation of having a good offensive line. As I was watching the game live, I was a little concerned that they weren’t going to live up to expectations and that it was going to be a long year following a mediocre offensive line that is bailed out by a great quarterback. Not only did they get stuffed twice in key short-yardage situations that ended up costing the team the game, but then there was the play of Zach Strief, who I thought had the potential to be this year’s Levi Brown or Jonathan Scott. Upon further review though, the Saints offensive line played pretty well against a solid defensive line. ----------------- full article: FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | Word of Muth: Strafing and Strief |
That's good stuff. Charles Brown flopping killed the last play of the game.
Keeps going back to my point: spread the field on 3rd and short. They can still run the ball without having 8 or 9 people in the box. Best of all, Brees can change the play at the line based on the defensive alignment. |
We are solid in the middle, though Raji tore us up there.. But I have to say B J Raji has been doing that to a lot of teams... I am very concerned about our tackle play though.. We have Peppers and Briggs to worry about this week.. We will have to see how that plays out.. But our Backs are gonna have to pick up there reads a little bit better this week..

That's some really detailed stuff. Good job. Now maybe some of the "Ingram is a bust" talk will subside.

Great read! Let's hope our boys, okay, men and boy get it right this week!
