Pay the man what he wants...he made a commitment 6 years ago when he signed with us to help improve us and has honored it many times over. Plus, he is one of the top 3 Saints players ever.... y'all can debate the other two and that is a topic for a separate post.

He will get about 16 million a year for 5 years - I would say at least 50 mill guaranteed.

NO ONE is worth that type of money. Teachers Cops & firemen in this country have trouble because of the, realtively, low amount of money they make.

MOney for research for cancer, aids research, MS, keep going - does not equal the pay roll of the NFL.

BUT to be fair - movie stars/TV stars are MUCH MUCH worse but they earn even more for a hell of a lot less!! :dunce:

Here's the point... assuming Brees breaks the bank, this hurts out ablility to sign and/or keep other players which hurts the team. So when is enough enough? Is Brees greedy or does he take less for the good of the team?

In any case, he deserves a deal close to Payton Manning.

I think if you go off of success, he is the 3rd best QB right now and that's where he should be paid. Brady, P. Manning, Brees. Pay him just slightly less than those 2 with escalator clauses that when reached he can receivethe same money as the other them.

This sounds good to me! I don't think there's any need to make him the highest payed QB/player in the NFL. He should get less than Manning if we are being completely honest about it and totally forget about Vick's contract.
