He is not a one-trick-pony! Tonight, he was all that you could ask of a possession receiver! His performance is indicative of a "Sean Payton Player". Do what is asked of you! |
For some people the answer will be "probably not"

Unfortunately, you are probably right. |
THANK YOU ROCKY! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I have loved Devrey ever since he made the Blue Grass Catch. |
I'm usually the first to take up for the guy!
|
He's been huge.
|
|
See what happens when he's not under-thrown.
|
Until next week yes. If he regresses then it's back to riding his arse.

Comes in and out of story catches but with Colston out he's our man.

I never understood the Devery bashing. Has he dropped some passes? Yes, but what receiver hasn't. And most of those were early in his career. Under Curtis Johnson (Rcvrs coach), Devery has turned into one of the most reliable and best deep-threat receivers in the league. But what I like most about him is that he's the anti-joehorn - no showboating, no loudmouthing, none of that. As a matter of fact, i have no idea what his voice sounds like b/c i'm not sure that i've even ever seen him do an interview.

Devery has always been one of my Favs..he doesnt get the respect he deserves ..there is a reason he is still with the team..
|
Devery is doing a good job right now. His drops come from the way he catches the ball. He tends NOT to catch the ball with his hands. When he uses his hands he's great. In traffic he reverts back to coddling the ball and depending on how it bounces around in that bread basket, it can go either way. All the receivers do HANDS work. The more they do it the more natural it becomes. Looks like Devery is figuring it out.

I have always liked him.. He has always had that big play capability.. He is a guy that's been around for awhile now.. He came into the league with the dropsies, which he did have at LSU to.. But time has turned him into a good player for us. He has always been a deep threat guy. Flies under the radar for defenses to prepare for.. So I am glad he has been givin this chance to excel.
|
The problem with Devery seems to be consistency and consentration. When he is covered or like yesterday out running the coverage he makes great catches. But sometimes when he is wide open say on a crossing route where he needs to cut up field after the catch, he has a tendency to take his eyes off of the ball looking for his lane and drops what should be an easy catch. But as long as he is in the Black and Gold I love him.
|
You know, Devery is Sean Payton's son's favorite Saint's player....must be for a reason!!! I love Devery, and always have! He has sort of gotten pushed in the background a bit with Colston and Moore being such great receivers, too, but Devery is solid.

Great catch that he caught that was Drew threw behind him.
