Oh and your right about the food !!! Love the food in the South !! You have BBQ,Cajun,TexMex,Mexican, seafood. I HATE going north! The food totally sucks. What they call hot sauce I consider tomato soup.

And I pretty much live for crawfish season!!!

skymike 09-19-2011 08:32 PM

Tackhammer, you would have a beer with me, if you met me in person.

I am far from an internet tough guy, but I'll splain some stuff tomorrow...
I definitely have some issues with the houston sports scene-- I think it
sux... but hopefully we'll chat tomorrow & I'll make a little more sense to
you, when you see where I'm coming from.

Highly recommend going to St. James Parish to the small towns of Lutcher and Gramercy to watch the lighting of the bonfires on the levee of the MS. river. This is where I grew up and it is just one big party. It's truly amazing seeing all the bonfires that line the levee and all the people that will invite you into their homes along the river road for gumbo or jambalaya. You can experience all this on Christmas Eve starting at 6:00 and be back in the French Quarter by 10:00 if you so choose.

Saints will be no problem - Houston Texans Message Boards

Why the Texans will get a win against New Orleans. - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum - TexansTalk.com

These people are delusional, more so than most fans. They beat two teams that are both 0-2.

lumm0x 09-19-2011 11:36 PM

Lots of respect for how far the Texans have come. They are becoming a force in the AFC and I have no doubt they win the south there. I still don't think they are a better team than us. They will be the weakest defense we have faced yet and we'll put 30+ on 2 better ones. They still have the offense to give ours trouble though so I see a 33-27 Saints win here. They have yet to face anyone tough. The Colts without Manning are a 4-12 team. Miami is mediocre on both sides of the ball and if not for a Daniel Thomas fumble they could have had much more contested ending. The momentum was swinging to tie the game prior to that play.

Gonna be a fun dog fight.

I like that this guy tackhammer has more class in his dirty draws than 99.9% of all bears fans and 100% more than ALL the failclowns fans. Very civil...You sir are a welcomed guest!! (Take some "How to be classy", notes Chi and ATL)

This is EXACTLY the kind of stuff I'm looken for!!! Sounds like a damn good time! Like I said in an earlier post. I'm kinda partial to the backwoods type entertainment. Booze Bonfires and Boidin suits me just fine.

Thanks Belaire
I've found that most Southerners tend to be a little more polite then there northern cousins.
And I guess Atlanta just a little to far north. By the time you get to Chicago it's like being on another planet. I think they get that way because it's to damn crowded up there.

we have lots of good info for you, so your trip will be a good one.

Nah..Heading to NO for Christmas.

JoanieNTX 09-20-2011 03:04 PM

Skymike is right, though, Tack....you WOULD have a beer with him if you met him in person! Good people!!! Don't think he is dissin' H'town to be mean.....he lives and works in Houston...me in Conroe....and he sorta has a feel for the "heart of the city" in his profession. Lots of great things in Houston, and this area has been kind to me. Hubby is a born and bred Texan, but I'm a born and bred Louisianian. The enthusiasm and fan loyalty that I've witnessed for the Texans is nothing close to what I've seen for the Saints. I think he is right that there are too many people who are placed here, and were not born and bred here. That's just a fact!

All I know is the D better shut down Foster... or it will be a long night.
Brady doesn't scare me...
Packers do not scare me...
Matty Ice doesn't scare me..

Bad ass running backs that chunk out yardage like Arian Foster... Scare me when our D doesn't show up against the run.

He isnt playing according to Kubiak..but Ben Tate is avg over a 100 yards a game...

skymike 09-20-2011 07:14 PM

All my WWE smack talk aside, Tate is a beast, and we better put our jox on straight.

TexanDocBar 09-21-2011 01:32 AM

Hey everybody. Just wanted to stop in and see what's going on. I'm a Saints fan when we don't play, so I have a decent feel for your team. I think it's gonna be a good game and the outcome will depend on who's D shows up for 4 quarters.
After watching the beat down y'all gave the Bears and Cutler, I'm worried about GW's crazy blitzes. If we can get the running game going though, that should slow it down some.
I think the Texans will scheme to stop the pass, like they did against Miami and dare you're running game to beat us.
I expect to see a ton of blitzing from our D, also. It's been pretty effective and we're knocking down a lot of balls at the LOS. That could present a problem for Brees. There should be room for the Saints to run, though and I really like Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram. Dat little gnat Sproles ain't too shabby either.
I didn't think we struggled too badly against Miami. We struggled in the red zone in the 1st half. 20-30 yd FG's instead of TD's just plain suck.
This is gonna be our first hard test this season and I hope we do well. I'm a homer, so I think we'll win but there ain't no shame for losing to the Saints in their house, as long as it ain't a blowout.

Danno 09-21-2011 07:17 AM

We've always struggled with that zone blocking scheme.

And as SkyMike stated, Tate is a certified beast. Imagine PT, but with 4.34 speed.

JoanieNTX 09-21-2011 10:00 AM

Ok, I'm gonna "go there"! x626xBlack, who in the world is that poor woman on your avatar??? Bless her heart, I would hate to know I had to carry those "things" around 24/7! ;)

As for the Texans fans around our office....since we initially got back from our N.O. trip on Monday afternoon, they've been pretty quiet. I don't think either team can predict a blowout. It will be a tough test for us, and I am a little worried about those "hosses" they have on their "O-line"! Where in the world did they get these giants, and what are they feeding them???

You can get in line...right behind me...

st thomas 09-21-2011 11:47 AM

i think the texans thought they would blow away miami and they had problems against them. now they meet drew brees and crew with a fresh addition on the end on defense has them a little more concerned.

JoanieNTX 09-21-2011 12:22 PM

I didn't think we struggled very much except in the redzone. Of course, Miami struggled there, as well. Some fans thought they would be a pushover, but every team has those fans. Most Texans fans respected a #6 D from last season and had just witnessed them hanging 500 or so yds on NE. We knew they could pass, so we took that away for the most part. I think we'll try the same against the Saints. Of course, Brees ain't no Henne, so it's a bit riskier this weekend.

JoanieNTX 09-22-2011 11:12 AM

So Schaub says he knows our offense well????? Well, last time I checked, Schaub plays against our defense! ;)

RaginCajun83 09-22-2011 11:22 AM

Its the Texans, who cares what they have to say about the Saints

JoanieNTX 09-22-2011 11:27 AM

Be nice, Ragin! ;) I'm just sayin......

skymike 09-22-2011 11:40 AM

yes be nice
