Robert Meachem consistency

... Because if I don't mention it no one will...

He gets his touchdown and a couple key catches every game now. No taunting, celebrating or rejoicing.

Just a very consistent professional.

Not taking anything away from Henderson here, just giving Meachem his props!!!

But... but...

He dropped a pass in a preseason game.

Papz is right

All our receivers are discovering how to get the job done and just be a pro about it. Now if only they can show Jimmy Graham how to act like a man. Love his talent, hate his immaturity.

He's our next Devery. This year or next it will all click.

I agree now. I didn't mind the TD mock of AR in Greenbay but I thought for sure he was going toi get flagged a couple times for taunting a player that tried or did tackle him.

Still not giving me what I want to see out of a first round pick. Still playing a back up roll and missing routes and has to be told what to do at the LOS. It would not hurt my feelings if we tried to part ways with him this offseason. To me this is his make it or break it year. He either comes out and makes a name for himself or he doesnt. Dude has had all the time in the world.

I'm not calling him a Superstar, just saying he's a consistent asset.

Papz, we should never have totally rested our starters the week before the Hackers. I called that a mistake then, and I'm convinced our receivers came out cold because they were... ah, cold. However, I am as unforgiving as you on mistakes like that so thanks for reminding me (us)!

Speaking of first picks, our current Heisman winner is not knocking our socks off yet either. Although I hope he does soon. I see a Sproles clone if we can ever get him more than five yards forward of the line of scrimmage.

Cheers to all. We've got a win under our belt. I can wear my Saints cap for the next week (without being defensive about it), and we've got a challenge ahead on this Sunday. Wish it were a division or conference game, though.

Our currant heisman winner has played two games, and with the stable of RBs we have we have the luxury of bringing him around slowly. I like what I have seen from him so far. Hell back in the day rookie backs would be religated to punt and kickoff returns and hardly see the field at all during regular play ala Deuce. I think he will benifit the most from our depth at RB.

Don't see the Sproles comparison, Ingram don't have that type of speed and quickness. I would just like to see him get more consecutive carries.

Me too, once he can handle it. Until then, feed 23.

Can't really complain about anything Meachem has done so far this season. Three touchdowns in three games is pretty solid. He's catching the ball well and seems to come up with big catches. Plus, the fact that he's competing with Lance Moore, Jimmy Graham, Colston (when he's healthy), Darren Sproles, and others for catches, I'd say he's doing pretty well.
