Where is Jerry Romig?
 

Jerry Romig-- the PA Announcer in the Superdome. I mean he's been the voice of the Saints in the Dome, for as long as I've been a WhoDat. longer.

I didnt hear him Sunday in the Dome. I searched the net, a bit nervously,
as I know he's not a young man, so, you know, you worry.

But where is Jerry Romig, Yats? I sure hope he hasnt fallen ill or even retired. Not ready to miss that voice yet. It sounds like you're at a Saints game.

The last time I saw him, which was 3 years ago, he told me he was still going strong after 40 years or so. I'll check with my family in NO to see if they have heard anything. I know he's getting up in age, but there are some people that you feel never grow old.

Are you sure he wasn't there?

What I could hear... and they did have the PA way down... did not sound
anything like Romig.... I sure would like to know.

I know he's still alive and doing announcing. He may be passing the torch on to relatives and working them in. His daughter also helps run all that operation.

He's so old he must be a skeleton by now, but he sounds exactly the same, at least I heard him in pre-season....

ANy word yet? I found nothing online.

He was at the first preseason game against the niners when I was there.
But I must say the sound system didn't sound all that great to me.

dont get me wrong, I like the PA a little lower... it used to be too much...
but they can turn Romig up-- he's easy to listen to.

I thought I heard him over dumb and dumber when I was rewatching the game Monday morning, was I wrong?
