Mark Ingram got snubbed?

The Top 30 Most Jacked NFL Football Players 2011- Part 1

Ingram is a beast! I think he should've made this list. I think he's more worthy than Brian Dawkins! Any other Saints who are jacked up?

ill have to admit...and i know people are going to disagree...im not that impressed with ingram as i thought i would be. yes he can hit but he hasnt really done much yet. pt is the better runner so far and so is sproles. i think that teams know we are running when he is in the game but man i was expecting a little more. and i do know that there has only been two games

I agree with Speedy Ron - up to this point he has not been amazing. He showed some flashes yesterday.

I was impressed by his ability to move the ball from arm to arm as pressure came in - very fluid, natural & looked like he kept a good hold on the ball

I like the fact that he is not afraid to put his head down and give punishment. Havent seen that type of running in a while.

I know he hasn't been amazing yet, but come on its his second game in the NFL.

He will get it down in no time, no point comparing him to Pierre or Sproles at this point

Pierre - 5th year Pro

Sproles - is he a 7th Year Pro

I trust that Ingram will become the beast we needed in the backfield, he just needs to get acclimated to the NFL.

I'm happy with the punishment he delivers, once he hits the holes and his vision improves he will cause havoc

Lets not get carried away with over hyping a player... after all we just been through all that with Bush.

College is one thing...

But this is grown man tackle football... He still has to prove himself

I'm not on the "Ingram's a Beast" bandwagon yet. I think he's gonna be a great player POSSIBLY in the mold of an Emmitt Smith (big complement). But even Emmit Smith wasn't a "Beast". To me, Beasts belong to the large backs like Deuce, Steven Jackson, Earl Campbell, etc.

If we had a healthy Chris Ivory, we wouldn't be talking about Mark Ingram AT ALL, because he wouldn't be here.

I need more out of Mark Ingram. We have yet to see a Lynch-esque breakout.

We have seen a fumble, though...

Now… Chris Ivory… he's a BEAST!!

I don't think Ingram has his break-out game until probably Jacksonville. He is one of three also, given time, he will improve.

Budsdrinker 09-21-2011 02:12 PM

This could be Ingram's breakout game. We need to run the ball to slow down the Texans pass rush. Wade Phillps is trying to use Mario the same way he used Ware in Dallas and having some success. We need to slow down Mario and running the ball or screening over him is the way to go.

I would agree that I have not been impressed. Watched him run all over LSU, and heard all the praise during training camp. I am not seeing it yet. It doesn't look like he is reading the holes or waiting for blocks to set. Thomas def looks like the feature back right now. I am not saying he won't be a star, I just think it is going to take longer than I thought. My opinion on the breakout game is...........Carolina.

I, on the other hand, am very positive about Ingram and his potential/ability.

He seems to have the right mentality to become a really punishing runner after he gets more familiar with the NFL level of play. I was very impressed by his quick cut ability against CHI and he does possess a set of pretty good hands, which will help him to become a complete back for the Saints for years to come.

The biggest thing going against him as of now is the fact that PT and Sproles have been really good early on, which in turn has limited the amount of carries he is able to get in a real-game situation, which potentially could drag on his acclamation period from what it could be with more carrying responsibility.

But it's a good problem to have...

LBCutta 09-21-2011 06:57 PM

not impressed with Ingram yet either. Time will tell. Don't think he will be a bust like Bush though

Danno 09-21-2011 06:59 PM

As someone else noted, the vast majority of his carries were facing 8 and 9 man fronts.

Teams know that when he's in we're gonna run and they adjust accordingly.

Funny that Vernon Gholston is number one, but got cut this year again...
