I'm over this now. Can we let this go

iceshack149 09-20-2011 02:15 PM

I intercepted Aaron Brooks at the airport while he was trying to get on the plane and he just smiled at me.

I guess his oline wasn't at the airport with him? They didn't show up for many games either. ;)

homerj07 09-20-2011 07:45 PM

WHo cares - The only reason I will pay any attention to Reggie is to see how good of a draft pick we will get.

Oh & I live in Florida & have no choice!!

Reggie contributed greatly to the Saints when he was healthy. He can as well for the Dolphins if he's healthy. Thanks Reggie. Good luck.

I was trying to make the point that the Reggie threads are equal to the AB threads.

I stuck with Brooks until his last season by the way. (Didn't you get the "Sunshiner" tramp stamp like I did?) He was a good QB that didn't seem to want to try to be great.

I kinda miss that guy. He was funnily delusional.

No. Next silly question?

Drew Brees is totally shocked by this turnaround of production.

ponchia16 09-22-2011 08:12 AM

Reggie and Sproles are in two different team.
Sorry but this question have no sense.
It's possible to know the production of Reggie in two first game as a Saint?
Maybe this could have more sense...

Fleured 09-22-2011 08:17 AM

Reggie and Daren are on two different teams. Reggie made sure of that.

Sorry for my english, i'm italian...

ponchia16 09-22-2011 08:27 AM

2006, Bush first two games (Saints):

21 rush, 72 yds
15 rec. 120 yds

2011, Sproles first two games (Saints):

6 rush, 24 yds
15 rec, 118 yds

Fleured 09-22-2011 08:29 AM

You're English is primo...I'm just inflecting the fact that Reggie is on a team now that is looking up at Buffalo(!) at the bottom of the AFC East now because of his dissatisfaction with his role in N'awlins. He is still getting minimal action with a line that for all intent sucks. Careful what you ask for Reg. I'm still rooting for him to pull through despite my misgivings.

But Darren is now in a prime spot here and he will be more of a factor and he asks for less $$$$. Damn, life is good.

I agree.
The fact is (for me) that Reggie and Darren are two players no paragonable.
Reggie (when healthy) is a wonderful athlete and playmaker.
Darren, maybe, is a player more concrete but with less athleticism. Maybe is better as returner.
Time will say who is better for this team.

Agreed, but he took the bait too easily. It was his downfall.

He baited people more than anyone else. He wasn't terrible, he just didn't know when to quit.

crawgator 09-22-2011 12:15 PM

Let's get over the Bush thing, He's gone, team he's on is loosing. Sproles is here. We are winners.. I can't blame Reggie wanting to go somewhere he can start.. And make the money he wants to make.. The Saint's coldn't offer him that..

The only Bush I wanna see is not named Reggie!!!!

A lot of people just assumed Darren Sproles would be used only as a third-down back in New Orleans’ offense. The thinking was that Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas would get more playing time.

So far, that hasn’t been the case. According to ESPN Stats & Information, Sproles has been on the field for 60 snaps. Thomas has been out there for 53 and Ingram for 41. The snap counts include plays that were negated by penalties.

It also was a common assumption that Sproles would fill Reggie Bush’s role as a receiver out of the backfield. That part is coming true. Sproles has 15 catches for 118 yards and a touchdown in the first two games of the season. Bush twice had at least 15 catches and 115 yards in the first two games of a season (2006 and ’08).

But part of the reason Bush never fully prospered with the Saints was an inability to stay healthy. Sproles hasn't missed a game since 2007.

Makes perfect sense. Sproles is the most versatile so it stands to reason he'd be on the field the most. PT is clearly the most accomplished pure runner of the bunch (for now) and Ingram is a rook. Looks like coach knows what he's doing.

Mardigras9 09-22-2011 02:08 PM

The Reggie trade brought peace of mind which we needed after the ups and downs of his tenure with the Saints, Sproles has just been a bonus.

Also we played catch-up the entire game versus Green Bay, throwing 49 times.

So far we're 86-50 pass/run ratio. If we keep that up Sproles will have a great season.

In 16 games he'd have...

944 yards rec, 8TDs
33.3 KR avg (would rank 1st in 2010 by a mile)
23.3 PR avg (would rank 1st in 2010 by a mile), 8 TDs

Sweet!!!
