Darren Sproles
Is quickly becoming one of my favourite players
The announcers for the game got it right, if you have Darren Sproles back there on kickoff returns, I'm comfortable for him to run it out even if he's 9 yards deep, the guy is that good. He makes the open field moves look effortless and he's a guy that people discount because of his size, he is not afraid to run over someone and you give him a gap and he's gone, he showed that on the toss play TD! |
Other than Brees...maybe the best acquisition ever.
For some reason, the Chargers keep making our team better :D They are kind of like our minor league team.
There's no doubt that he's doing some great things already as a Saint! He's quickly erased pretty much all thoughts of Reginald for me.Sproles' is Rollin' man!!A typical sized scatback with short legs is how I see him. That shortness allows him to go undetected for that split second, then poooooff he's flying by everyone!I'm glad he was available for us to replace "that player" we lost.
What was his name again?WHO CARES! Dear Mickey, Thank You! |
Yeah we love San Diego and thank them for their generosity. It's a shame we missed out on LT he's doing a great job for The Jet's. But ok we can't be to greedy.
Always been one of my favorite players. Glad to see a coach using him correctly, alot better then Norv Turner.
I've always been fan of this guy good to see him in black and gold. Has anyone seeing Roby

I don't feel bad for the Chargers. We have lost so many good players to other teams over the years it's mind boggling.
mighty mouse has filled more than one major void that bush left sure.
the one void he did not fill is bush's east west dancing yardage. |
More Bang for your Buck!
I thought he was the MVP of the game yesterday...along with Drew ...dude is small in person..but he dont shy away from contact..
He has been awesome all year.
He's killing it in fantasy for me. He looked friggin great again, along with Lance.
what were they thinking letting him go.
Reggie WHO????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Uncalled for guys.

who dat? who dat used to wear #25...who dat...who cares?
Bush was out of yesterday's game with a groin injury. I guess this might be his last year playing in the NFL
Suppose San Diego has any offensive linemen up for grabs?
Sproles is swift as hell. I wonder how he compares to others in the 40yd dash..
I believe Reggie is faster than him... sure doesn't look like it though. As soon at the ball touches Sproles' hands, he's going... he's looking for yards. The problem with you know who in the past is that every time he touched the ball, he was looking to score... and that failed miserably.
Papz, I donno Darren sure looks like he could beat Reggie with one leg. LOL.

I googled it and you were right. Sproles has a 4.49 and Reggie a 4.33 in the 40.. |
I don't know what his top end is, but his 0-60 is amazing. He's as quick as greased pig snot.

But Sproles has what Reggie didn't. An understanding that you need to run north/south. He has instincts for finding the gaps and lanes or at least processes faster on the field. |

Sproles is shiftier ... he makes the subtle cuts to get through tight spots running north/south. Bush is faster, but he's also more deliberate and obvious with his running.
Darren Sproles.
Darren Sproles vs. Texans’ defense: While the Texans didn’t blitz as much as you would expect, Sproles still had a great day. He had six receptions for 50 yards and a 30-yard touchdown on a sweep. Again, he has been an impact player for the Saints, a rich-man’s version of Reggie Bush.

Reggie seldom outran anyone, Sproles looks like he can do it regularly. |

He's better than Reggie Bush, imho.

I agree I never understood how Reggie was an important part of our offense and we supposingly built our offense around Reggie (per payton). The day he was traded was the best thing we ever did as a team. Sproles is gonna be somebody!! Anytime he gets a return he's a threat at big yardage and/or a TD. He actually makes the kick returns interesting compared to years past.

Surely you don't think that trading Bush away was more important than signing Brees...as just one example? |
