Anyone concerned the Jaguars could be a potential trap game.

The Saints have 2 division games after Jacksonville, and could be vulnerable to looking ahead.

Plus the Saints have been known to play down to the competition.

jcp026 09-27-2011 09:15 PM

Trap game or not, we seem to have a habit of losing to beatable teams.

Danno 09-27-2011 09:18 PM

I'm not so sure its looking ahead as much as it is over-confidence.

But both can lead to losses like Zona, Cleveland and Seattle last year.

I know its cliche, but any team can beat us if we don't bring our A-game.

saintfan 09-27-2011 10:30 PM

Rookie QB? We're in big trouble.

lumm0x 09-27-2011 10:37 PM

One game at a time. Hope they treat it that way and just steam roll like we should.

McCoy was a rookie last year when they beat us ... we should be awwwright though this year.

xan 09-27-2011 10:57 PM

This game is a classic butt clincher. I think we are cosmically obligated to make rookie QB's on terrible teams look like All Pros.

This is true Max Hall Colt McCoy.

The Dude 09-27-2011 11:45 PM

I am ALWAYS alot more nervous when we play the teams we should beat. We have historically struggled with the teams we should beat, and this goes back to the Mora days. I am not worried at all about these next 3 games for some reason. There is something about this team this year. I don't know what it is, but I they are hungary. If we can put up 30+ on 3 of the best defenses in the league, we are going to torch these guys.

Belair57 09-27-2011 11:47 PM

I used to think that way with our OLD Saints...but these guys BLOWWWWW OUTTTTT the Jags by 30..Put it down..

Speedy Ron 09-28-2011 08:03 AM

i hate the phrase "trap game". how are we getting trapped?????

darstep 09-28-2011 08:22 AM

Every game sets the same trap.
Lack of concentration, mis-communicaton, mental mistakes, lack of execution...
Not getting caught in the trap is the challenge.
Planning is only half the battle. Executing the plan is always a bit tougher.

Just ask the Jags fans!

"900-3"

ScottF 09-28-2011 09:07 AM

looks like back-to-back trap games to me.

That said, I think we have a couple offensive players who would like the ball more, and might be looking to break out: big game for Thomases, Lance

papz 09-28-2011 09:12 AM

It only looks like a trap game if you're dwelling in the past.

nevergiveup3 09-28-2011 09:49 AM

I've been waiting for the "Am I the only one worried about J-Ville" thread...lol...

I think our trap game was last week.... super high for the GB game to open the season... super high for Chicago for obvious reasons.... Houston has not had a season that says they are contenders... yet they do have a very good football team.... That was the game I was worried about.... and the way things started it sure seemed that way

strato 09-28-2011 09:56 AM

I dont care if we win by 1 point just win and no more injuries...

Mardigras9 09-28-2011 10:52 AM

It shouldn't be close, Saints should role compared to the teams we have played the first three weeks. Goes without saying, Tackling is a must this week.

LOL We do have a habit of making rookies look good - regardless of the position they play

I would love that. :bng:

Now the weather should be AWESOME... High of 75, no chance of rain &, for Florida, low humidity, only 50% :p

(not the rain the Jags & Pants played in last week)

AlaskaSaints 09-28-2011 07:30 PM

YES, absolutely a trap game.

I hate these. (See Browns, Card's, 'Hawks last year)

Alaska

iceshack149 09-29-2011 01:45 PM

I'm not concerned with the Jags. Saints should win but I'll keep Jones-Drew in my fantasy line up for sure.

Does the Jacksonville contest have the makings of a 'trap' game? New Orleans Saints Black and Gold Report - Video | NOLA.com

VillainAgain 09-29-2011 06:10 PM

I think that Any and everybody who uses the term " TRAP GAME" needs to STFU! The NFL is full of WORLD CLASS ATHLETES although some teams are more competetive than others but Every and anybody can be beat on Any given sunday hence why you schedule and play games. Browns and Arizona beat us last season if you looked at the schedule you chalked up a W before they played. And be honest who outside of the state of washington picked The SeaHawks to win that wild card game?

pumpkindriver 09-29-2011 11:42 PM

Yeah, the old adage "On any given sunday........." rings true but we'd have to bring our F game to lose this one. I just don't see the jags winning this one in any shape form or fashion.

Budsdrinker 09-30-2011 07:33 AM

It wasn't the play of the rookie QB's that beat us last year it was the turnovers we committed. Cards returned 2 turnovers for TD's and had a pick inside our own 5 that led to a 3rd TD. Same with the Browns game turnovers in the redzone and ST breakdowns not the play of rookie QB's.

xan 09-30-2011 08:32 AM

This is a "put your boot on their throat and stomp" game. If we can't do that, we're not going to go far.

UK_WhoDat 09-30-2011 04:25 PM

Every game has to be won. There is no gimme. I believe that the Saints will concentrate on and try to play the game in front of them because there is sufficient motivation and competition in the Saints.

If the Saints lose then it is down to one or more of poor strategy, poor execution, great Jags play.
