Saints RT Zach Strief's knee injury is not season-ending.
Strief is going to be out a while, suggesting an MCL injury. The Saints have provided no details other than to say their starting right tackle missed practice Wednesday. Charles Brown will start against the Jags this week and veteran Pat McQuistan was signed off the street this week for depth. Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune |

Well, at least 64 should be back for the stretch drive.
Hopefully, Brown should be able to hold up in his absence. Brown is giving away almost 50 pounds from Strief, but he could be a little more mobile in pass blocking. Our run game may suffer however, without Zach's bulk. |
If both OL are going to miss Sunday, why did we only sign one OL? I guess Tennant will dress?
we need a bye week |
Have we reached our quote yet?
Hopefully DThomas is OK and seeing straight when he gets back. Injury is one thing that can kill a dream. |
A good friend of my hubby's in Midland is good friends with David Thomas' family, so I asked his wife what was going on with David. Well........she said she "really wasn't at libery to say," and she hoped I understood. So I am thinking that Sean is keeping all of his statuses close to the vest these days. We really won't know until the players show up back on the field! Ugh.

Atleast Tracy Porter is back, that should stop Patrick Robinson from getting beasted every single game. Tracy has shown he can hold his own, he just needs to be more aggressive like jabari is

Brown was drafted initially because of his superior foot work and arm length - the combination of the two were supposed to make him a really effective pass blocker. Like you stated, he isn't really built for run blocking, but as the Saints are a pass first type of an offense, it did make a lot of sense to draft a guy like this. Now, I don't know what all the injuries have done to his movement abilities, but I'm very interested in finding that out in the next few games where the opposition have made their game plan based on him starting as the RT. The scouting reports at the time of the draft were really high on him, so I believe there is something to this guy if he can just stay healthy long enough to make an impact. Furthermore, I'm really excited to see Tom Johnson play this Sunday. He'll provide the D-Line interior with more pass rush, which they've been lacking in the first 3 games. |
