Kevin Spain stated that De la Puente performed really well in the preseason game against OAK... opening holes and such.

But I seem to remember him also giving a defensive lineman a free run at Brees when the Saints were pinned down on their own end zone, which resulted in a safety.

I'm not saying he didn't play well, but he did make some mistakes also.

He is young. That "O" line did a great job in the rushing game BUT pass blocking left something to be desired

I was seriously impressed with the Oline opening running lanes for our backs. I did not like all the pressure that Drew was under all day. We need a little more work on our pass blocking.

Inexperience mistakes was what it was. Brown needs to learn to lead his guy to the outside not the inside so that Drew can step up in the pocket. Moving his guy to the inside is for a scrambling QB which Drew is not. Drew gets away from pressure by stepping up in the pocket and I'm sure when they watch the tape the OL coach will be stressing this point to Brown.
