The way the season is shaping up, it could be that only ONE team from the NFC South will make the playoffs. One wildcard will be from the NFC North (either Detroit or Green Bay); the other will come either from the South or the East. Philadelphia could right itself, or Dallas could get its act together and make it. I don't believe in the Washington Redskins AT ALL (how can anyone believe in them with Rex Grossman calling the signals?). The Giants have started off well, and could make it either as division champs, or a wildcard.
In essence, there will be THREE playoff spots among these teams: Saints, Bucs, Falcons, Eagles, Cowboys, Giants. The other three will be the Packers, Lions, and the NFC West winner (looks now that it may be the 49ers).
Of course, a lot could change in the next 6 weeks. But I think the cream is starting to rise to the top. I don't look for a team coming out of "nowhere" making it in the NFC.
