Count on John Clanton to screw with the Saints
|
That would be John "Clayton"...
|
I think we should be third. The Patriots shouldn't have jumped us, but the Lions have earned the number two spot.

I'm Sorry but Clamton is a azzhat!! New England lost to BUFFALO and Buffalo lost to the Bengals. Buffalo hasn't played a decent team IMHO and the bengals are 3-2. Detroit still hasn't played a decent team.. Granted they look good against those teams they played but they aren't the caliber of Saints, Green Bay. Just my .02. Did I say Clamton was a azzhat?

Um. Does anyone realize these are simply meaningless rankings by individuals? This isn't bogus NCAA football. This is the real thing. Championships are won on the field of play, not from a friggin' keyboard.
:whatever: :bng: |
Guido FTW!
I would personally rather be disrespected and ignored and overlooked, fly under the radar all year long, quietly beating the pants off everybody...power rankings don't matter. The main thing to remember is that, most of the pundits and the people who vote on these silly power rankings each week, they don't actually watch the games or the teams...they watch the same three or four national games on TV on Sunday, and the same highlights and same game breaks that all the rest of us watch, and then they vote for whatever they think is popular. Many of them go to the big games in person, so the actual amount of real football these jokers see on a given weekend, when they vote on their "power rankings," would probably shock you people if you knew how little it was. They don't know who the Saints are, they probably couldn't name four other Saint players besides Drew Brees. |

Its the disrespect we're commenting on, not the fact that we may miss out on a BCS bowl. |

See this is why Power Rankings are a pet peeve of mine.
Its ONE person's opinion it is worse than the BCS because at least there is a computer calculations and a system in place. They also have NO PLACE in "GROWN MAN TACKLE FOOTBALL". Go watch the kids if you want Power Rannkings. Here is my rankings: NFC SOUTH 1. New Orleans - because they are 4-1 2. Tampa Bay - because they are 3-2 3. Atlanta - 2-3 4. who cares. |

And how is one person's opinion worse than a BCS ranking? Its not worse, BCS rankings mean something. One person's opinion doesn't. I laugh at you guys who get all bent out of shape at ranking NFL teams. Its no different than any other opinion piece in sports media. Would it make you more warm and fuzzy if it was titled "Here's my list of the best teams in the NFL, from best to worst"? Get over it guys, they're opinions, and its OK to agree/disagree and discuss why they think team X is beter than team Y. Do you guys not understand that these rankings (or lists) have nothing to do with who makes the playoffs and who doesn't? I'm beginning to wonder. |

Power rankings are worse than masturbating a paraplegic.

All any team can do is play the team on their schedule.
The Lions are beating the teams they are supposed to be beating. I think they will at worse, split with Packers. |

For what its worth, NFL.com's power rankings still has us as #2, behind GB. I look at anything coming out of ESPN outside of Adam Schefter and maybe a couple others as tainted and biased. Power rankings are kinda fun to look at but not worth getting upset or excited about b/c nothing matters but the games themselves and who makes the playoffs.
