Saints working out TEs; David Thomas to IR?
 

Hmmm ..i dont like this..hope Thomas can recover..must be a really bad concussion.

Hopefully Thomas is okay and they've just decided to get rid of Gilmore.

didn't we have 4 TE's the past two years? I think Humphrey actually caught a TD last year

Boo. What a flash in the pan. He had a fan club though.
I had a Hoby Brenner Poster when I was younger.

I hope that Thomas makes it back. That guy has been solid.

Heard of Patrick, although neither one of these guys can replace Thomas.

Thomas is a great player; I love the guy, but he's replaceable.

We have always overcome offensive injuries: Pierre, Bush, Colston, Heath, Shockey, Moore and so on.
Our offense just has too many dimensions to rely on just one guy. Except Brees, of course.

we should bring back Cam Cleeland

No matter how you look at it replacing Thomas is going to be a down grade unless the Patriots can spare a TE.

We tried, but he slipped getting on the bus and tore his achilles. :doh:

A little duct tape on all those bone spurs and he'll be just fine.
A hair cut and a shave for Boo Williams and he should be ready.

I would love to see these "old" guys strap on their crutches and give it a whirl.
Payton may scratch through six guys before his fancy is tickled.
Whoever he picks, if any, will be versatile (catch and run) and think on his feet.

Stole my thought. Lorenzen was looking good and received unsolicited praise from Drew Brees. I know he's mostly a receiving TE, so maybe they're looking for a TE thats 80/20 blocker/receiver.

But even if thats true, Tory Humphry fits that description and has been in our system a couple of years.

Miller has the distinction of scoring the first touchdown at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Miller was waived by the Saints on September 10, 2008, but re-signed on September 16. He also won a Super Bowl with the Saints.

Before one season started, Billy blew out his Achilles Tendon, ending his career of football.

he's still only 34. Call him up.

Let's just hope Graham stays healthy. LOL. But, Humphrey seemed to be the best mix of blocking and catching behind Thomas. Gilmore is a good blocker but he brings nothing to the passing game. Atleast so far anyway.
