Be Honest!
Pete Carmichael…
How many knew that this was our Offensive Coordinator? I swear, I had no idea. |
No idea
Alaska |
Yeah i knew...he has been talked about before...not sure what his actual role is but ....that's his title.
He's doing a great job.

I knew it, but only because I looked it up a while back because I was curious to know whether or not Sean Payton was the actual coordinator or not.
I knew, and I've often wondered how much he's getting paid. What a sweet gig considering I'm sure Sean & Drew are largely in control.
Believe it or not, I have heard his name mentioned as OC a couple of times..try to make a mental note! ;) I mean look at Mike McCarthy now!
I had no idea
I'm still not sure ... but if you say Pete Carmichael is the OC, well... ok.
Strato, great avatar. That being said, I know he was our OC. I think he's Carmichael, jr.

I knew, and I remember the first time I heard his name I was like, wait, I thought Payton was!!!???
Isn't he the guy in charge of keeping Payton stocked with Juicy Fruit?
Thats much better...i can see it
I'm not saying he's the genius behind it all, but I think in hindsight the offense kinda elevated from being really really good to being scary good at the point when the previous guy left and he came on board as OC, so he must be doing something out there. I mean 2009 to now, the offense has been even crazier and scarier and even more insanely good than 2006-2008 was. I knew who he was from the run in 2009, but probably hadn't thought of him since then. He doesn't call the plays but he's certainly no slouch.
Nope
He collates and staples.
I knew he had the title of OC, but i think his role is more of a consultant and Sean Payton is the guy pulling the strings
They are all doing a great job though |
He's the real genius behind the play calling......pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Well I knew that was his title, but I don't know what his actual role in the offense play calling/designing is...
Anyway, he's the one you can see going over the polaroids with Brees every Sunday, so maybe his focus is on the QBs... but that would bring up a question about Joe Lombardi's contribution on the staff? |
I knew who he was. But I also know Payton calls the plays. The OC does more than just calls plays. The 1st 10-15 plays of each half are basically scripted. I'm sure he has a hand in those. He probably has more responsibility in preparation of the offense during the week for Sundays than anything. Drawing up plays etc. I honestly think he makes Payton look better......
Sort of like being the Captain of a Flagship when the Admiral of the Fleet is aboard?!?
So is he in fact the back-up in case SP goes on the IR?
He also makes the gatorade...
tests Payton's food before he eats any of it... is the emergency kicker... He used to be the guy who followed James Brown across the stage holding that cape. |
while we're at it, lets jam: (note: this one doesnt have the cape guy)
Once you said that I remembered it - but couldn't have named him w/o it being a multiple choice question
HEY.. ask Jets fans who's Rex Ryan's defensive coordinator?

I admit it...I didn't have a clue.
My favorite response so far... "guy that makes sure Sean has Juicy Fruit" |
Be honest! I halfway think somebody might have jinxed the Saints with the jokes on this thread last week....if ya'll didn't know who Pete Carmichael was, you DO NOW...he was the guy calling the plays yesterday after Payton went down. So now we know!
