Trade Deadline!!! (Wishlist)
OK so i've been waiting all off season and now 5 games in to see if we re really going to go by the our D bends but don't break attitude...Yep WE ARE!
News flash...It does break and often! Now with the trade deadline upcoming are we going to make moves? We got a 4 man RB crew don't tell me P Thomas can t get us a decent LB in return? I'm happy with Ingram,Sproles, Ivory...You? Now waiting on this, The Seahawks already moved Curry a former high draft pick to Oakland for a few picks and Now With the Texans Williams out they too are in the market for a LB! That's my wishlist, Love Vilma ( 20 tackles ) but i want a Monster , Tackling, Run stuffing MLB What's your wishlist, what is your take on D needs? BTW where were we when N barnett ( 42 Tackles already ) and B Ruud ( 37 Tackles already ) were available! DAMN! |
Trades don't happen much in the NFL and blockbuster deals during the season certainly don't happen (and trading Thomas for an LB of comparable impact would qualify as a blockbuster).
To me our best lineup at LB would be Vilma on the weak side, Dunbar in the middle, Casillas at the strong side. And no thanks to trading Pierre. He's the only back we have who's been around long enough to know all the protections. |
Maybe we can get Sean's friend
TE Shockey |
Too late. Curry has been traded. I don't know of anyone else on the block.
|
I'd trade Ivory before P.T.
|
FA
LB Lofa Tatupu He leaves after anchoring the middle of Seattle's defense for most of six seasons, including three Pro Bowl appearances and a major hand in taking the Seahawks to their only Super Bowl appearance following his rookie season in 2005. |

Well - if he has all that why is he available? What ISN'T this telling us about him?? |
CURRY GOT MAILED OFF BECAUSE HE WAS AVG. AT BEST. THE NO4 PICK OVERALL HAS NOT LIVED UP TO HIS BILLING. AP NEWS
|
I wouldn't trade PT at this point. Maybe in the offseason, but we have no idea how Ivory will do coming off injury. When he was healthy he could not make it through one game without injury and I don't know how much being injured during a lockout year will help as far as his conditioning. I like the guy and all and want him to do well and get the whole underdog thing, but I don't want another running back who cannot stay on the field.

lynwood, I will KNOCK YOU OUT!!!
LOL Jus' kiddin', of course, bro... Alaska |
As was mentioned before, big time trades are rare in the middle of the season... And as this season continues we will be glad that we have a bunch of RB's ... We can keep them fresh, and hopefully we can keep them healthy.. I agree the LB situation is a concern for us, also we might need a little more depth on the Offensive line... But compared to other teams we are in good shape... 4-1 is a good start.. We need to win this game to get a good hold on the lead in this division.
GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!! |

The word out there is that his knees are shot after the surgeries and, because of it, he has lost much of his former speed that made him the player he was. Also he is a MLB, which the Saints have no need for. As for Barnett, he's 30 and from what I've heard, he had a fairly big price tag. And as for Ruud, he's a pure MLB and would've played the same spot as Vilma... and Dunbar in his most natural position. Curry would've been an interesting decision, since I for some reason have a really good "feeling" about him. Granted I only saw two Seattle games last year, but he was definitely not the weak link on the defensive side. But I guess there had to be a reason why Seattle decided to trade him, although it could've been salary related instead of skill for all we know. I'm not sure I would like to see PT traded away, even though the RB corps looks strong at the moment. As we know, that can change in a heartbeat and it can effectively ruin your season - the case and point being last season for the Saints. Now if the Saints could trade PT for a comparable OLB then I wouldn't be upset, but that's just not going to happen. |
Casillas...
Martez Wilson... Hello, McFly...? Quit trying to sell off one of our RB's for over the hill LB's already. Man some of you guys need to lay off the hurricanes. lol The TEAM will be fine. No they're not perfect. Yes they give up big plays No Sean Rogers hasn't morphed back into his former self (shocker) Yes Cam Jordan is a rookie Yes Will Smith has played two football games this year No Harper won't cover top TE's and WR's every play Yes Shanle is aged I mean, feel free to add your own thoughts, but this team is 5-1. Maybe not BECAUSE of the defense, but certainly a PART of the defense. (and Drew freakin' Brees) |
A good LB and O-Lineman is what i would go after..

He can't stay on the field and he is one dimensional.........I know Ingram hasn't shown us all that much yet but his ceiling is much higher. |

Although the Saints go into the game against the Bucs as the favorite, it's hardly going to be automatic for the Saints. Largely agree with your other thoughts though. |

If you haven't noticed, Ivory seems to stay broken? PT23 when he's healthy (which he seems to be this season) is a consistent ground gainer and killer on screens. The RB rotation is working right now. Don't mess with that mojo. Quote:
Vilma is the field general for the defense. Watch how fast the defense disintegrates without him there to make the calls. Quote:
Second wish: The D simply needs to play smarter. A ton of drives are sustained by stupid penalties. The D actually does their job, then penalize themselves back on the field. Last wish: crank up the turnover machine. Dropped interceptions are killing me. Just catch the ball. None of these require personnel changes (other than getting Shanle off the field). SFIAH |
We'll be fine. Once we make the playoffs, a new season starts. All those statistics can go down the poop shoot. Remember we won the Superbowl with a mediocre defense and with Drew Brees running the show. As far as I'm concerned, it looks like the same recipe... with some better ingredients on both sides of the ball.
Juar stir it up and let it simmer. I always find gumbo to taste better the next day. |

Beautiful tackling and nice LB play, great coverage i'm glad your all happy with the D, but reality check, WE WILL NOT won a SB with this D, that's all i'll say about that....TB longest play since 08 LOL yeah that'll get it done..... |
