Saints coach Payton: broken tibia, torn MCL
According to Fox Sports, Saints coach Sean Payton has a torn MCL and a broken tibia (broken knee).
The injury occurred in the beginning of the first quarter when Saints tight end, Jimmy Graham, was tackled on the Saints sideline into Coach Payton. Payton remained down for several minutes while receiving attention from trainers and medical staff before he was helped to the bench. Payton continued to call plays until the end of the first half and went get x-rayed during halftime. Payton is supposed to coach the second half from the booth, but was still in the locker room into the first few minutes of the third quarter. It is still unknown if Payton will have to leave to go to the hospital. Link |

Dr. Deryk Jones performed the surgery, assisted by Dr. Misty Suri. The surgery lasted three hours. Payton will remain overnight in the hospital for observations. Get well soon! |
