Eric Mangini says Brees has a lot of Romo in him

"Eric Mangini says Brees has a lot of Romo in him. He's a better Romo with a better puppet-master in SPayton. Brees missed Payton on late INT"

Mangini is just pissed because he wishes he had a lot of Romo in him.

Ick. Brees is no ****in Romo. Omg. I can't wait for Drew to come back next week and light up the scoreboard!

Wait, this is the same Mangina who used to coach Cleveland, right?

pinch 10-18-2011 07:36 AM

Brees does tend to trust his WRs too much at times, but if he didn't have this mentality we wouldn't have won a Superbowl. I'm more concerned with WRs catching the ball and RBs holding onto the ball.

I disagree. He is suppose to trust his WRs "too" much. The problem is he's not putting the ball where only they can get it now. Romo in him, nah! He's forcing it too much like Farve. I also think his puppet master's tricks are getting a bit sloppy. Opposing teams can see the wires now.

Don't get me wrong, I still believe he is the best QB in the league. And especially with the protection (lack thereof) that he's getting.

If Thats The Case Then Dumb A** Shottenheimer Was Brees' Puppet Master In San Diego Right?? Get The F*** Outta Here Mangini!!!!

Mardigras9 10-18-2011 08:25 AM

Wow, that may be the dumbest thing I have ever heard in football. What a D-Bag.

The turn of events Sunday had me coming away wondering if Payton's play-calling was that spectacular or was it just a case of the team being in shock after seeing their head guy go down and also not seeing him in his usual spot on the sideline.

Brees is a great QB...and the only reason he can be compared to Favre is because he throws a lot, and with that, things will happen. Brees has Favre on accuracy and smarts, but Favre was more mobile and where Brees could throw a football and hit a knot-hole in a tree...Favre would throw the football through the tree.

I wanted to share this with you guys. After the pick in the endzone last week, my wife says to me that they shoulda run it. I'm like, "Well, it was 4th down and they needed 2 yards."

She says, "Yeah, but right at that time they were pretty close to the goal line, and if they miss with a run, TB has to start pretty deep in their territory and we still had some time on the clock and some TO's."

I was impressed...and I think she was probably right.

Mangina is just that. Who cares about his opinion anyhow. I"m surprised they let him stay on in Cleveland as long as they did.

QBREES9 10-18-2011 11:21 AM

Thanks Ball Boy. Hartford Ct own Eric Man ( I'm Out of a Job )

neugey 10-18-2011 11:36 AM

MANGINA - ROTFLMAO

Euphoria 10-18-2011 11:43 AM

Well the whole debate is really can the cowgirls win a SB with Romo.

With that context, you can't bring Bree's even to the conversation because... Bree's has a ring!

Incomplete pass and the clock stops...and they get it at the two.
Unsuccessful run and the clock keeps running on reset of the chains
and the delayed clearing of the pile of dejected Saints players.
Brees' hands are the best hands in situations like that. I just wish they had spread the field.
A big part of Brees' success is his desire to make a play. I'll take it anytime.
And I'm also willing to take my licks when that desire doesn't work out in our favor.
That comes with the territory.
Everybody dragging on Romo, but that's what I like about him.

JoanieNTX 10-18-2011 12:04 PM

Romo is not even close to being anywhere at anytime in the same UNIVERSE as Brees is! Give me a break! Comparing Brees to Homo is like comparing a "Mercedes" to a Chevrolet. (No offense to Chevrolet drivers, but not even in the same league)!

AlaskaSaints 10-18-2011 12:13 PM

If he wasn't running for his life because his pocket was collapsing, he may have seen Meechum jumping up and down all by himself. We win.

I won't be comparing Drew to anyone but Drew until we get another Superbowl win. With that, he'll be in GREAT company.

There are a lot of one-time Super Bowl Champion QB's, but the number quickly thins with a second win.

Romo is not in the company of Drew Brees; no.
Drew Brees is not in the company of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or any number of Steelers or Cowboys QB's, either. Not just yet, anyway, but our day is coming.

BIGEASY504 10-18-2011 01:43 PM

Mangini just what are you smoking; your comparison is like comparing a boy scout to a police office – good stuff your on there Gini. Brees by far is the better of the two – douchbagism at it’s finest – the nearest person next to ManGina just slap him. I was going to put down my argument but have anyone said anything stupid and you just walked away – I doing that to this post, wtf Mangini?!

Eric Mangini says Brees has a lot of Romo in him

I have not read any of the other posts on this thread, nor have I read the article. So I don't know how you guys feel about this (although, I have a pretty good idea), but I'm not even gonna dignify this BS statement with a response.
