Rams defense held Saints O-line during game
|
There's holding on every play.
|
Sucks if true, but no need for excuses. Man up and with the battle.
Time to move on. |
Oh they were chop blocking like every play! They called ONE of them, but it was on almost every running play. I thought Shannahan was their line coach! At least on the offensive side of the ball. Big Sed was landing on his facemask the whole freaking game....

I saw this to...they watched the Houston tape on us...that's their bread and butter...I saw that game live and got a real good view..Our lineman were actually having to jump over some of the chops... That style of run blocking is getting popular..we might look into doing it to..you can use smaller lineman and be effective..just take their legs out..its cheap but lethal...i personally dont care for it..but as long as its not called... its going to continue.. |
There are methods to counter when the D-line holds, its called blowing them off the line or just swatting their hands away. Or you can get dirty and just school them about it, hit the elbow inside out and make it buckle and that guy wil not be holding ya any more.
|
And if they are holding on the offensive side of the ball you can just take the Junior Gallette route and try to take their helment off via facemask. HA!!
|
Sounds a little like the Vikings after the 09 NFC Championship
|
Its BS. If you saw the game you'd see Long blowing right past our DE's with hardly any contact at all.
What the excuse for that? Some of the calls are opinionated... one's ref hold is can be another borderline call. |
yeah yeah yeah i do not want to hear it. you got beat plan and simple. put away the diaper and tighten up the jock straps and get to work

Lame excuse, step up against Tampa and shut all us critics up.

ha wow what abunch of babys....

Whiners...
We should have beat them even if they were allowed to hold. |
Some of you people are just stupid. Duncan went out of his way to point out that the remarks were in response to questions on the topic and that the players specifically said it was no excuse.
And yet, here you idiots are with your dumb comments. |
If the start chop-blocking, put a kick to one of their heads and see if they chop-block after that...
Quit whining and exact justice on the field; as my good friend suggests "exchange the diaper for a jock" |
no excuses.
i think we should apopt the same strategy on Defense. maybe we would be able to stop somebody.... |

I saw the play where Evans was trying to break the DT's arm, lol.
It looks like they were going off in their different directions to engage others while the rams DT is reaching back to grab or slow Evens up and without looking Evans swings his arm back knowing the arm was in a bad position. If he came with any more force he could have done some damage to his arm. You really couldn't call what they were doing holding but they came to play all of them and they were doing everything they could to tie up the Saints O line. |

" It should be noted, Nicks and Evans were only responding to questions about the tactic, and neither brought the subject up on their own. And both stressed it was not an excuse for their overall performance. " |
Comprehension is key

I quote "Still, Nicks and Evans acknowledged the stategy kept them from executing their blocks on linebackers on several plays." Its the same thing. Of course, that doesn't mean we aren't stupid idiots. |

Evans and Nicks are both actually guards. They have nothing to do with Chris Long or how bad the tackles were playing. Also, if you pay attention to the article, he says it more effected their run blocking than it did their pass protection. I mean, Long raped our RT (regardless of who it was at the time) the entire game, and did so very legit-like, but that just has absolutely no relevance to what Nicks and Evans were talking about. I would honestly trust two pro-bowl guards who were asked and didn't provoke the conversation, and even then admitted to an overall bad performance, then just pass it off as whining and try to play father to the team ("We should have played better, there is no excuse! we deserved to lose! HMPH!"). They were probably held, it likely affected the score and our performance, and it sucks to think it would've mattered. The game is over, we should have won regardless, life isn't fair. |
