Physical play sparks Saints
With first place in the NFC South on the line, Saints offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod said they were ready to bring the fight to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
"It was needed coming off the loss we had (against St. Louis)," Bushrod said. "I think the team came out here, and we responded well. We did the things that we needed to do, and we got the job done." Entering Sunday's game, the Saints have surrendered 19 sacks this season, which is more than they have allowed in any of coach Sean Payton's six years in New Orleans. It was a troubling statistic for the offensive linemen, who take pride in protecting their star quarterback. "I know it hasn't been as pretty as it has been in years before, but that's football," Bushrod said. "It's not always going to be pretty, and we just got to continue to find ways to win and get better. That's what it's always about." Full article below. Physical play sparks Saints | HoumaToday.com |
