Harper named NFC DPoW
Roman Harper was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after stuffing the stat sheet against the Falcons.
Harper won the same honor for his performance against the Bears in Week 2. After coaches film review, Harper was credited with 16 tackles, two altered passes, one sack, one pass defensed, and two tackles for losses in the Saints' 26-23 victory at Atlanta. Good job old man... you sorry excuse of a safety. |
Good job...way to go Harper!
|
If the Falclowns would have won, he would have been the goat for dropping the easy, game-ending interception. It's a fine line. LOL.
|
I don't care, I'm a Harper fan! Way to geaux, Roman! You looked GREAT out there! :) KUTGW!!!
|
Way to geaux Roman "stone hands" Harper!!!
|
Looks like the winning strategy is to find good players and not rotate them so much. Then a sense of ownership of play at that position is realized.
Clay Mathews and Jared Allen COMMAND their position, and demand respect from whomever they face. Although you can't coach just anyone into becoming one of those players, holding a player responsible for his end of the line is a start. Alaska |
I hope Harper is peaking.
I hope Harper is not peaking. I've been hard on him but I wouldn't want to face him, that's for sure! Way to go, Bro! Alaska |

Look, I think those that have been hard on Harper, have every right to be that way. I love the guy, but he has had some stinkers before, and he does have his shortcomings. But, he definitely seems to be a favorite of Williams, and when he is on, like last weekend, he's fun to watch. |
You have to try really hard not to like the guy... He's been good for us, more than bad I think.... Congrats Harper!
|
He should be. He has had to be a 1 man gang.
|
Like the guy also, whoever said you cannot teach ball skills is right though. But what a hitter and go go-geter he is and has worked for the kudos he gets. Most any team would want that guy.
|
Awesome. Glad for him.
Just don't toss him the Halas or Lombardi trophy. |
He does seem to be performing better since GW roams him around .... still, he should have intercepted that effing ball!
|
big ups for Mr. Gray!
He was all over the field but yes, he could've saved me a few fingernails by catching that end zone pass.... Congrats, #41 |

Funnuy. Way to step up Roman. |
He is definitely not the weakest link. Good job Harper. He is leading our D in just about all categories, and at SS.
|
harper is our best defender
he earned this and sealed up his 3rd pro bowl nomination IMO |
Well deserved 41.... Oh yea, keep it up butter fingers!
|
I threw him one, Canton. And may vote again if I get time.
It's tough being objective, but how do you send someone like Will Smith to the Pro Bowl... You know...? Alaska |

That's why he plays strong safety, and not free safety. Harper does his thing EVERY week and takes flack because he can't stay with a good TE or a back out of the backfield. It's just not his strength. He doesn't have much of a trun-and-go, or a good 0-60, but he brings the wood, EVERY week. We, and GW, just have to find a way to cover his weaknesses. The same way we cover all the other weaknesses. Harper should be probowl, AGAIN! We have no substitute for his contributions to our success. |

Harper is actually one of our better cover guys. The proof is in his job description. He's not a corner for a reason but he's easily the best defender we have based on his consistency. Ur letting a few plays here and there cloud Ur memory of his otherwise tremendous career and skillset. I can't believe how many pol are actually still down on this guy for what he and gw said were only 2 missed plays in Seattle last year. You can say he can't cover but he's 100% better than any safety we've had over the past 10 years |
