Steelers | Kreider Expected to Test the Market - from www.KFFL.com
Wed, 18 Feb 2004 07:12:09 -0800 The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Pittsburgh Steelers FB Dan Kreider is expected to test the free agency market. His agent, Jonathan Feinberg, said that Kreider wanted to stay with the Steelers, but doesn't think that the team is offering "anything close to market value". Feinberg didn't say how much the Steelers offered and doesn't expect the team to improve the offer. Feinberg is looking for a base salary of $1 million per year with a signing bonus of $900,000. http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl The thing that most impresses me is the 276 receiving yards in only four seasons, his last two seasons he's caught over 100 yards. Don't know a damn thing about his blocking abilities, though. |

\"The Steelers do not value a fullback in their offense, other than as a blocker. Kreider has been the Steelers\' regular fullback since 2000 when he was named the team\'s rookie of the year. In that time, he has 22 carries for 98 yards and two touchdowns and 34 receptions for 276 yards and one touchdown.\" Don\'t know too much about the guy either, however he seems to be a pretty good blocker, and actually has some hands. So in my opintion it\'s an upgrade. |

Could be a prospect if Smith decides to get too expensive.
