Merril Hodge on Mike and Mike
 

Did anyone hear Merril on M&M this morning? They were talking about the game tonight, and as they were wrapping up, Merril made a point to tell the audience to pay particular attention to Roman Harper. He said he wasn't a household name, but he did some pretty neat things, and should be a fun guy to watch.

Thought it was pretty cool to hear Hodgey give props to one of our beloved defenders, that we love (most of the time, anyway;-)

Way to go Harper...show em what you can do baby!!

Neat things = Manning on his backside

Hope Roman doesn't do any neat things like get burned in pass coverage. Or neat things like letting Manning torch his ass with the T.E.

I've seen our LB's and CB's torched more than Harper this year, and last.

Harper has been pretty decent in coverage this year, except for a couple of P.I. flags and dropping an easy interception...

And has been excellent in run defense and rushing the passer...

He does his job well. A strong safety is supposed to be able to stuff in the box......coverage is a skill that he's been working on and is getting better.

Merril looked at Harper in his "37.5 hours of film study this week." on NFL MatchUP. Talked about Harper doing "Green Dog" where he rushes the QB when his TE stays in to block instead of going into a pattern. They actually took the time to show about three Saints plays on both offense and defense this week.

In his defense...that Jacobs is a "frickin' freight train!!!"

I agree/ those idiots talk like they can predict the future or answer question(s) with question(s). I was dying laughing when they showed a flash of Tom Jackson critiquing Tim tebow " Tebow won't win games, he won't be consistent, he won't take'em to the playoff, now he won't win the superbowl. ALL OF THEM A BUNCH OF JERKS
