The only downside I see to all this, is that if Suh plays, he will not have had the week of practice time to prepare specifically for the Saints. Which might mean that instead of a specific game plan for attacking the Saints, Suh might just decide to substitute for lack of film/coaching by simply ripping people's heads off by the facemask, stomp on them, kick them, bite, rip their bloody arms out of the socket, throw their severed limbs into the stands, scream like Godzilla, etc. etc. Not having practice time with the team could actually increase the amount of dirty play Suh has to resort to, if he's unprepared for the Saints, because he won't be on the same page as the rest of the Lions defense. On the other hand, he may end up like Brian Urlacher in the Bears game after his mom died -- all pumped up emotionally but fairly ineffective on the field.
