Saints beginning to get that feel of something special
NEW ORLEANS ― Carl Nicks sat in his locker late Sunday night, in no mood to consider going 4-0 in the past five weeks of football a major accomplishment, even after a 31-17 win over Detroit.
Don’t misunderstand the Saints Pro Bowl left guard. He understands how important this past month has been for New Orleans, who at one point sat at 5-3 and off track. It’s just that the smart and ever-quotable fella knows there’s so much more at stake. “It means something, don’t be wrong, because the month of November is a crucial month going into December,” he said. “But it doesn’t mean anything. We’re two-and-a-half ahead (of Atlanta) and we’re really trying to catch the 49ers in trying to catch that second seed.” Full read. I can only speak for myself, but I've always thought the Saints were a pretty darn special team. Maybe it is because New Orleans is such a unique, special place... but then I'm biased. I admit it.
They do look really efficient right now. Drew is scary accurate. Our Wide outs, tightends and the vast array of people he can throw the ball to on every single play, is insane. Most teams have a megatron and some other guys in the uniform. The Saints don't have that problem. All heart and an assload of skill all over the field on any given play, any given day. |
Yea! and our defense is "special" too.
|
I'm poured the kool-aid early this year, we are not where I would like to be defensively but I'll keep drinking but with a little tequila every now and then.
|
Everyone is so critical of the defense, we're rated mid pack except for passing yards given up. I'll equate that to losing the secondary coach this past off-season...
However the defense has been making plays when they have to... |
...and that just doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy.
|
Let's just make certain we win the next 2 games on the road.
