Brees last pass
Was anyone else dumbfounded when Brees threw a pass that was nearly intercepted late in the 4th quearter?
I would have dog-cussed Brees worse than I did if that pass had been a pick 6!! |
Yeah was a very bad decision, we are lucky nothing worse became of it
|
Brees is an awesome QB, we all know this. However, I sometimes think SP has too much confidence in him and gives him too much leeway. I look at the end of the first half vs STL when Brees went into panic mode and through a pick, or the backhanded pick 6 vs ATL, and this is another prime example.
Hey Sean- Brees in mortal; make the smart football call in that situation and deal with it |
when is SP ever conservative?
we play to win the game.....you dont play to not lose it we were trying to win the game with that pass....had we run it we guaranteed that tennessee was going to get the ball back |
Run the freaking ball and take another 44 seconds off the clock.

Brees has to know not to throw that pass!! Hell!! Take off running and maybe he will get a roughing penalty!! |
A sack would have been better than an incompletion.
|
or a pick 6!!
|
a first down would've ended the game

and a pick 6 for Tenn would've probably ended it too, since we only had 1 TO or, we just run it, and give the rookie QB a long field and 1 minute on the clock, instead of 1:45 |

Drew threw an incompletion and our defense made a stop Could itve been done differently? Sure. Could itve been done better? Possibly Hindsight is 20/20 |
I really liked the call because Ivory of all people was in the flat and would have certainly caught the ball and ran or ran over someone for the 1st down, it was the hussle by a lineman that broke it up, now if it were a lb., corner, or safety it more than likely been bad news, I also like that Payton is getting Ivory in the passing game and finally shows he is trusting Ivory more than just being a hard nose runner. Ivory can be a deadly all around back given time.
|
I don't know about y'all but one time I messed up at work.
|
I was always taught to RUN THE BALL, RUN THE CLOCK.
|
if we would have ran it; they would have got the ball with around 30 secs left and none of that last second heart attack would have happened...
|
Win Game first. Break records later. Run the ball.

I did not like the call - a run takes 40+ seconds off the clock before we have to kick!!
|
We live by it and we have died by it too. Sean is aggressive and Drew is too. We were fortunate today, but we've come out on top of our fair share as a direct result of being aggressive.

I liked the call only problem is Drew waited too late to throw it. Ivory was clean off the line and if Drew would have thrown it right away Ivory would have had the first. That was a DT that had coverage. I'm impressed that he was able to break it up but that pass should have been thrown 1 second sooner.
|
We are so spoiled expecting Drew to be perfect, as he is most of the time. I am OK with live by the Brees/ Die by the Brees.
|
Also remember we had been imposing our will on 3rd down, all day long, so why stop then?
|
Ivory hadnt caught a pass all year; why throw to him at all?!

Passing was the right move...throwing to the flats was a mistake Had the pass been completed this wouldn't even be an issue |
