METAIRIE, La. ― Check out the statistics in each of the past four games for the Saints and you’ll find one common theme – no turnovers.
In three of the past five games, the Saints have won the turnover battle. And, according to coach Sean Payton, that’s “significant.” It was one of the points of emphasis the coaching staff challenged the team to turn around during the bye week. “I do think opportunistic-wise at the stretch when we had the bye we really challenged our team to do a better job with the turnovers both offensively protecting the football and defensively taking it away,” Payton said.
