Saints winning streak correlated to change in turnover battle

METAIRIE, La. ― Check out the statistics in each of the past four games for the Saints and you’ll find one common theme – no turnovers.

In three of the past five games, the Saints have won the turnover battle.

And, according to coach Sean Payton, that’s “significant.”

It was one of the points of emphasis the coaching staff challenged the team to turn around during the bye week.

“I do think opportunistic-wise at the stretch when we had the bye we really challenged our team to do a better job with the turnovers both offensively protecting the football and defensively taking it away,” Payton said.

Under Payton, the Saints are 20-0 when they don’t turn the ball over.

We are our own worst enemy. Don't turn the football over and we can beat everyone.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.
