But! One of the Saints' two losses (which isn't going to happen, by the way) MUST BE to Carolina. If the Saints lose to Minnesota and Atlanta, then beat Carolina, they still win the NFC South due to common opponents tiebreaker. They have to lose to both Atlanta and Carolina (assuming they beat Minnesota); both teams would then finish 11-5; they would be 1-1 head-to-head; but the Falcons would be 4-2 in the division, and the Saints 3-3. Falcons would thus win the division on the second tiebreaker (division record).
Here it is in a nutshell: If the Saints win the final regular season game against Carolina, they win the division...period. It doesn't matter if they lose to Minnesota and Atlanta both. Of course, they want the #2 seed, so they need to win out (I believe they will). Now if only the 49ers do their part, and lose at least one more game...!
