Question for the Forum:
Would you rather Drew Brees have the scrambling ability of Mike Vick...
Or the size/height of Peyton Manning? |
Well since the O-line generally does a pretty good job of protecting Drew, except for that Sunday they missed their flight to St. Louis, he really doesn't have to scramble all that much so I would rather see the extra few inches of height. But I think he is doing just fine the way he is.
|
I like Drew Brees just fine the way he is...
|
His height hasn't hindered him thus far. Brees doesn't need Vick's speed, but it would make him the most dynamic player to ever hit the field.
|
Neither, I think he has the size and speed he was meant to have and has made the most of it, why change anything, it's great now.
|
Our offense is designed to work for drew, he seperates himself from the line of scrimmage to give himself a throwing lane.
He's the best just the way he is |
I agree with jlouhill that as well as Brees is protected that he doesn't need to scramble a lot.
I like Brees the way he is also; question was offered in a what-if tone. Kind of like, what-if the 2011 Saints had the original Dome Patrol playing in its prime this year!! |

It sounds like people are offended at the question. It would be SOOO awful for Brees to be more athletic.

Depends, do you define athletic as running around in the pocket like a chicken with its head cut off like rogers has to do because his OL is so horrible, or athletic as Tebow with a 48% completion record ? Soon to have his head taken off. I define athletic as using your head and physical ability to gain the best result. Brees is fine. |
Wouldn't change anything on a guy about to break the record for passing yds in a season....
|
Just the way he is; physique, brain, determination.

I am just aghast. The player is what he is. Change something about him and maybe his style of play - including the level of some of his strengths - changes too. A more outright question, for me, which QB do you prefer - Vick, Manning, Brees. |
He's perfect because he has the Napoleon syndrome.jk
Between the two choices I'll take height. |
Or would Peyton Manning prefer to keep his height and have the Superbowl XLIV ring that Drew Brees has!?
Alaska |
anyone thinking of taking P.Manning over Brees might check their records Brees has out performed Manning sense 2007-Now. Brees should have been MVP 2008 and 2009, look it up.

i agree niether - he does what he does becaseu f the skillshe already has change that & you change drew!!
|
He's fine the way he is with that blue suit, red cape and the big S on his chest. The S is for SAINTS by the way!
|
This hasn't been posted in at least 3 days. So.......... |
I'd take height. I think that would make him even more effective in the pocket.
|
I prefer him just the way he is. Being only 6' and not being recruited in his home state of Texas has built a huge fire inside of Brees to prove everyone wrong. If he was 6'5" maybe he doesn't prepare and strive for the perfection that he has right now. Brees is perfect the way he is.
|
it is pretty awesome
|
I wouldn't change a thing! He's the freaking terminator!!!
|
If I could change anything about Brees I would change the fact that he went to Purdue and have him be a former SEC/BCS champion and Heisman winner who graduated from Ole Miss...
|
I'd take 1 inch taller and 0.2 seconds faster in the 40. Not much, but enough to make a difference when stretching for that sideline or peering over 6'6" DT's
|
Height / Weight advantage if I had to pick. Running / Scrambling =s injury.

middle linebacker catches him. He occasionally does get hit, and just bounces right back up. I agree with Budsdrinker. His lack of height was probably a factor in being bypassed by schools like UT, which likely lit a fire in his heart. The last thing I want is a Michael Vick. How many injuries has he had this year? Running: Live by it/ Die by it. How did Steve Young's career end up? He ran around too much, and still has headaches from guys like Frank Warren, Jumpy Geathers, and Vaughn Johnson. Young probably would have played 10 more years, if he'd stayed in the pocket. The #1 thing a QB needs, next to his arm, is his BRAIN. And we have the best. |

Again, we are not taking away any of his current abilities, work ethics, game knowledge, passed/current accomplishments, etc. from him, just adding one extra treat...BEST QB IN HISTORY!!! |
Vick is only 6ft for anyone who doesn't know , they just don't say anything about it.

6ft 5 might make you see a little better, but it also means your arms are longer, so your throw is slower. Most important to me is mental quickness, accuracy , work ethic, then arm strength. lol, I think the only thing vick loves is himself. |
Brees is the scrambler in the league. That's why he never has to run.

Brees took the bull by the horns, so to speak, and worked his azz off to get better. He continues to have an amazing work ethic and is reaping the rewards. Vick hasn't taken the bull by the horns. Vick has allowed circumstances to limit him, something Brees refused to allow. Intelligence and ability aside, that's the biggest difference between the two in my humble opinion. |
