Hey! A DT!
Saints | Young to Visit - from www.KFFL.com
Thu, 4 Mar 2004 08:09:55 -0800 Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports free agent DT Brian Young (Rams) is scheduled to meet with the New Orleans Saints. Can someone explain this one to me? Is he going to replace Kenny Smith as Sully's backup? This is not the type of DT we should be looking for. [Edited on 4/3/2004 by BlackandBlue] |
Hey! A DT!
I\'m startin\' to think you\'re a Redskins fan.
:casstet: |
Hey! A DT!
Because I\'m not particularly thrilled at signing an under-sized defensive tackle? If that\'s the case, you can call me a Hogette. ;)
|
Hey! A DT!
Mainly because with all the talent the Saints have you don\'t think any of \'em have a clue. NOTHING the organization does pleases some of you...NOTHING. Why not just follow a team you approve of? :casstet:

Ok then, explain to me exactly which need Brian Young would fill on this team. I\'m done polishing the corporate knob.

Hey! A DT!
You\'ve been reading too much of 08\'s propaganda! ;)

Hey! A DT!
Don\'t worry about Saintfan guys. He tends to get a little upitty when the Saints do exactly what all of us \"dooms-dayers\" said they would (i.e. make the wrong moves in free agency as usual), or when the Who-Tang starts to wear off and the harsh reality of this team begins to set in and he can\'t continue to live in Billy-land. ;)
I think signing Brown was a good move Saintfan, but I can understand why some people are upset about ANOTHER backup being signed on D. I don\'t think it\'s a terrible move, but where are the corners and lbs we need? What is Young - the 15th DT to play for this team since Haslett took over? Excuse us if we\'re not overjoyed. |
Hey! A DT!
Dooms-dayers...hmmmm...not exactly the term I had in mind, but it\'ll work.
The thing Whodat, as you know, is that \"you people\" just aren\'t happy...EVER. To listen to you people you\'d think the Saints haven\'t made a single, solitary, decent personel move in 4 years. I swear when we win the Superbowl you people will find a way to be unhappy about that too, since you\'re not really happy \'til you\'re not happy. A crappy way to live if you ask me, but to each his/her own. The point remains, however. Why don\'t ya\'ll follow a team who\'s moves you approve of? I guess we\'re back to the \"not happy \'til we\'re not happy\" thing tho huh? That would explain it. |
Hey! A DT!
Isn\'t Young a one-gapper (help me out here, Danno)?
We need a two-gapper to help stop the run? |
Hey! A DT!
So Saintfan - you\'re happy with the Saints personnel moves thus far? Granted, it\'s early, but you\'re happy so far?

I trust that Pease knows what he\'s doing and most likely has reviewed endless film and has a say in the type of DT this team needs. He may even have a few in mind. Its possible they move Sullivan to the middle and let Young play the 3 tecnique. I\'m not gonna pretend to be more knoledgable than one of the most respected D-line coaches in the league. I\'m curious if he had a prototype 2-gapper at Jacksonville during their dominance (before cap hell destroyed that team) |
Hey! A DT!
It doesn\'t matter guys Brian young is a dead issue. He wanted $4 million a season and we laughed him back on to the plane.

Hey! A DT!
That is pretty funny, I would have been hesitant to pay him half that.

Hey! A DT!
Since Robaire Smith is off the market, it\'s time too call Darrell Russell agent
