Packers plans will probably determine our opponent
Still a slim chance at the #2, but assuming that the 49ers don't choke against the Lambs, I think the Pack will determine what team comes to the Superdome for a drubbing.
Falcons will win against Tampa. So if the Pack win, we get the Lions. If the Lions win, we will get the Falcons. Question is - how much will the Packers starters play with nothing to gain? Based on this, you know... 1) The Packers want to win so that the Lions would be the #6 and have to play the Saints. If the Lions were to win and stay the #5 seed, they would play the NFC East champ and more than likely win. That would mean a return trip to Lambeau for the Lions, fresh off a Week 17 win... 2) The Lions want to win so they do NOT have to show up at the Superdome for another drubbing and can instead play the NFC (L)East champ/chump. 3) The Falcons want to win and hope the Lions lose so they can play against the #4 seed. That keeps them out of the Superdome until the NFCCG. 4) The 49ers want to win in Week 17 because they know it will probably be the last of their season. If they are the #3, they might could take Atlanta, but would lose to Detroit in a rematch. If they are the #2, they're toast when we come to town... |

I think the 49ers would wipe the field with Atlanta, and I think the Lions could take Green Bay with both teams full strength, and I think whomever wins the East is one and done regardless.

I actually think the Falcons could take the 9ers.
Don't hose me, it's not love or respect, it's that the 9ers' offense isn't very good and the Falcons' is. A mobile qb gave them fits all year. |
I Dont Think The 49ers Are A Threat In The Playoffs

I personally would rather play the Falcons again than the Lions because I think the Lions have the better shot at taking the Packers out in the divisional round.
While the Packers-Saints rematch would be great football, I'd rather see us take care of business in San Fran and then get to host the NFCCG. |

To many ifs. We have to play and win just in case the Rams pull an upset.

I don't care who we play, where we play, or when we play, if our D plays a little tighter than we did last night and our O does what they do,we will be the team that puts fear in them. Last night the D played well and have shown improvement over the last month, alot, a few more improvement and they will be battle ready. The O looked shaky in the 2nd half last night, I guess nerves, but the D stayed strong through out. The D is going to be the ones to keep the points off the board in a tight game and I think they are ready.

I don't see why everyone is so worried about the 49ers. We've beaten them the last 3 or 4 times we've played them and at their house to boot. If we have to travel, I'd prefer to go to SF.
