Eli is no Peyton
Projecting QB success is tough, but Eli Manning doesn't measure up
It's always tougher to judge a player when you're rooting for him. You exaggerate both the good and the bad. So my evaluation of Eli Manning might be a little tougher than that of most people because I've pulled for him in every game in which I've seen him play, mainly because I like the family, and also because I first met Eli when he was a little kid. Therefore, I have to say that there's a lot about his game that makes me nervous. I like the way he delivers the ball when he's comfortable in the pocket, but I don't think he handles the rush well. I don't see the same analytical approach to the game that his brother had at the same stage of his career, and what bothers me most about Eli is that he doesn't seem to elevate his performance when the pressure is greatest. I've seen him almost fall apart at times. For the rest of this article, click here: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...der/index.html |
Eli is no Peyton
I met them and know the family as well... but those words you used are pretty much what they have been saying about Peyton and he is know the highest paid player in the league. No-one, NO-ONE should pass up that chance of getting a Manning at QB.

Eli is no Peyton
Simply stated in an earlier posted report , the mental will be all up to the coaching :
When compared to Peyton, Eli has a stronger arm, better mechanics and is more accurate. The only question is whether he has the intangibles? Coaches and scouts claim that Eli has the same work ethic that has made Peyton the best quarterback in the NFL. Final Say: The only question about Eli’s success is who drafts him and how soon does he suit up. He compares best with his big brother Peyton Manning. After that sit back and relax, because that team will quickly have one of the top quarterbacks in the league, barring injury or a complete mental breakdown. |
Eli is no Peyton
Eli is the real deal. This thread should have been titled, Peyton is no Eli.

Eli is no Peyton
Eli\'s only downfall is that he hasn\'t studied films like his brother. He makes up for it with his arm though. But seems as if he is starting to study more from what I can tell.
