A lot of people point at our linebackers as being terrible (I by no means think that the linebackers are great), but I really think that our LBs often look worse than they are because of bad play on the defensive line. These last few weeks, the D-Line has look much better, and in turn has made our entire defense look much more stable. Plus, the increased playing time of Dunbar has made the LB group feel much more complete.

Continuity certainly helps, as well as other parts of the defense working well. The D-line affects every other position. To me Shanle is an average to slightly below average NFL LB. He's not as bad as many state, but he certainly isn't as good as a few claim. Obviously he's the best we currently have or he'd be replaced. |
