________________________________________________________________________________ Meanwhile, Young arrived in New Orleans on Wednesday for a visit with the Saints. He then plans to visit Atlanta, Denver and San Francisco. Interestingly, Chicago - where former Rams defensive coordinator Lovie Smith is now head coach - was not on the list. At least not as of Wednesday afternoon. With a limited amount of salary cap space, and other priorities (Orlando Pace, Wistrom, Adam Timmerman), the Rams are resigned to losing Young, who registered 102 tackles and two sacks and tied a franchise record with five fumble recoveries last season. Young appears to be one of the Saints' priority free agents. They're looking for a blue-collar type with talent who can provide a good example for younger players such as defensive tackle Johnathan Sullivan. ________________________________________________________________________________ This sounds to me that the Rams would like to keep Young aboard and at the right price this would be a good pick up for the Saints. This would not only fill a need but give the team a young, explosive defensive line. With the addition of a starting middle linebacker with some range and speed capable of playing the run (Vilma, Williams, Gold), this could add up to be a very respectable front seven. |
