I hope GW has the defense ready to defend the option play against Carolina!
I watched a highlight show and it showed the Panthers running the option and other college-syle plays.
I hope the defense is ready!! |

Noticed our d-line, even with a rookie starting, has held strong on run stop all season long. It's now maturing and pressuring the QB. I believe our defense is getting better and we don't realize how many young players we have out there. I think Carolina is a legit threat in our division in coming years. They're a potential dog fight twice a year for the next few years, where I think the Saints have "Atlanta's number" and Tampon Bay is just crumbling. That said, I believe Gregg Williams and Mickey Loomis made moves toward speed and youth to beef up our defense specifically with Carolina and Scam Newton in mind. Just my humble opinion. |
Carolina scares me. Not so much this year, but if they can some how pull out a win they will have momentum going into next year. If they draft well and ad a few FA's in key positions they will be challenging us for the South. Im hoping with a year of film Newtons threat becomes less of an issue. As much as I hate to admit it the kid has had one hell of a season.

The Panthers will be a threat until Newton has a Michael-Vick-Esque exposure for fighting Guinea Pigs or something.

I know Gregg loves to blitz all the time, I'd just dial it down a little for this game if I were him, let roman Harper get a couple of shots at taking Newton down. But if we stay with 7-8 in coverage most plays and rush 3-4 players at a time, we can stop the run like we have been doing and still leave a spy to limit newtons running room

Youth. Ability. Agility. "Momma-bred" Arrogance. Great traits to get you through a rookie year, however he will need maturity and ability to read defense to stick around.
The Carolina game will no longer be a slam-dunk as it has been in years past. Alaska |

The run defense has been pretty good since the first Atlanta game |
HIT THE QB.
When my boys play a spread that's what we teach them. When a qb becomes a running back then you are allowed to hit him. Force him to toss the ball away and possibly create a turnover or make a mistake. The panthers don't run a ton of option plays like the broncos do but if it happens we need to hit cam |

The difference is that we've had a couple extra sacks so ppl quit complaining The pressure has always been there...but one of the most overrated stats wasn't there |
